10 Kms away from Kathmandu at the base of Shivapuri Hill lies South Asia's sculpture wonder, the Budhanilkantha temple, the Abode of Bhagwan Vishnu. The temple houses the world's largest and most beautiful stone-carved idol of Bhagwan Vishnu.

This idol is made with a single block of black basalt stone of unknown origin.Sculpture is 5m long & lies in a resting position in a 13m long pond also called the 'cosmic sea. Vishnu idol in the lake is believed to have been built during the reign of 7th century King Vishnugupta.

It was rediscovered later during reign of Malla Dynasty.Water in lake is believed to have originated from Gosainkund,a lake formed as a result of Bhagwan Shiva's Trident striking with mountain.Local legend describes existence of mirror-like image of Bhagwan Shiv under the statue.

VEDIC COSMOLOGY, also known as Hindu Cosmology, and cosmography are both interesting and inspiring. Today’s “modern” Vedic texts originated around 3,000 B.C.E. This is the oldest scientific and the oldest religious doctrine known to the human race.

Our current astronomy of the solar system and universe has its roots in Vedic knowledge. It only shows that man had advanced knowledge of astronomy way before our current civilization came into existence.
We are here to talk about the Vedic version of the planetary system,

starting at the top from the eternal planets to the temporary planetary system within innumerable universes in the material world.

Talking about “cosmic manifestation,” we need to incorporate both spiritual and material existence.

The spiritual realm of the planets is everlasting, and this will forever be beyond what the material universe can encapsulate. The spiritual realm belongs to the “super dimensional” or “anti-material” dimension. It means that it is beyond what we can perceive,

beyond time as a linear dimension, and the space of our vision and perception.

There are innumerable planets, all indestructible and forever lasting. That is what the Vedas say about the spiritual planets. Our concentration here is more towards the material side of things.

Rani Bhabani was the Queen of Natore, Bengal or 'Natorer Rani' as she was famously called. She made great contributions in Tarapith & renovated Benaras.

In Varanasi, Durga Kund Mandir was constructed by Rani Bhabani in the 18th century.

Born in Chhatimgram village, Bogra District,Her father's name was Atmaram Choudhury.Bhabani was married off to Raja Ramkanta Moitra,the then zamindar of Rajshahi.After his death, Bhabani became the zamindar, and started being referred to as Rani.She was known as Ardhabangeshwari.

A woman as a zamindar was extremely rare in those days, but Rani Bhabani managed the vast Rajshahi zamindari most efficiently and effectively for over four decades.
Maharani Bhavani was very pious in her personal life. She passed her life in a strict disciplined way.

She conducted the administrative work skillfully. As a Maharani she was an impartial judge. Rani Bhavani had a very hard time during the fag end of her life. The Zamindari (estate) incurred serious loss due to the change of the revenue policy of the company.

In spite of being the owner of a large Zamindari (estate), she had to depend on the stipend of the government in the later part of her life. The amount of this stipend gradually decreased and became Rs. 1000/- only in the end.

Timur Lang, was the founder of Timurid Empire. He was born in April 1336 CE, somewhere in central asia.

During his reign, he conquered Persia, Egypt, Central Asia and emerged as the most powerful and heinous ruler. He was a religious fanatic like the rest of the Islamic invaders who tried to invade India.

Timur Lang decided to invade India in 1398 as he heard about India's splendid wealth and had a desire to conquer India which his ancestor Genghis Khan couldn't do.

After Firoz Shah's demise in1388, Delhi Sultanate was in a state of political turmoil.During this time, Timur sent his grandson Pir Mohammad to attack Indian front. He invaded Multan&was able to defeat Iqbal Khan's brother but when he met with resistance,he asked help from Timur.

Iqbal Khan secured his hold on Delhi under Muhammad Tughluq after Firoz Shah died.
Timur provided the required back-up to his grandson with 100000 men approx. Timur sacked and plundered all the cities coming in his way &later in October 1398 reunited with his grandson.

🌺Mutilated but still standing tall, the incredible sculptures of Martand Sun Temple, Anantnag, Kashmir.🌺

The research and related archaeological findings done on the ruins of this magnificent temple dedicated to ‘Surya’, suggest that this temple was a pinnacle of

Kashmiri Temple architecture,which is a skilled blending of the Gandharan, Gupta and Greek styles of architecture.

The style of construction of the temple and the artistry exhibited in its construction was considered as rare among contemporary architecture.

The temple was constructed with a colonnaded courtyard with Greek style pillars, stretching 220 feet long and 142 feet wide, incorporating many smaller shrines.

The main shrine (‘Garbhagriha’) is the centralised structure with a possible pyramidal top, the most

common feature of the temples in Kashmir.

The inner walls of the mandapa which leads to the Garbhagriha (now without main deity Surya - The Sun God) is decorated with smaller sub shrines for other gods, such as Vishnu, and river Goddess Ganga and Yamuna on either side.

Some other defaced deities also adorn the inner mandapa.

Many sculptures on the outer walls and basement are not beyond recognition as they were completely mutilated and eroded due to the course of weather.

..Pakistan, which is 125 km away from the northeast of Karachi, Pakistan. This temple is located in a small natural Cave, where she is worshiped in a small round piece of stone smeared with sindoor (vermilion).

🌺2. Shivaharkaray Shakti-Peeth, Pakistan

Here the incarnation of Adhya Shakti, who killed Mahishasur, is worshiped. It’s located near Karachi of Pakistan. The eyes of Goddess Sati fell here. The Goddess is worshiped as "Mahisha-Mardhini".

🌺3. Sugandha Shakti-Peeth, Bangladesh

Shakti Devi Sugandha,also considered as Ekjata,is situated in Shikarpur,which is 20km north from Barisal in Bangladesh.The nose of Sati had fallen & here she is in the form of “Sunanda Devi Tara or Ekjata and Tryambak”appears as Bhairav.

🌺4. Guhyeshwari Shakti-Peeth, Nepal

This temple of Shakti is located near Pashupatinath Mandir in Kathmandu,Nepal. It is about 1 km east of Pashupatinath temple. Here, the knees of Sati had fallen, she is in the form of Devi Mahashira & Kapali appears as Bhairav.

Our temples are the architectural marvels in their own league.

Each of our temples tells the story of our rich history and cultural heritage. Was Nehru that ashamed of his own nation's heritage that he had to cover them up or there was some other reason? The answer would be best known to him only.

PM Nehru invited the then Saudi King Saud bin Abdul Aziz to India who accepted the invitation and planned a 17 day long official visit to India in 1955. Saudi King had brought a large delegation with him and he had to visit various Indian cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Agra,

Aligarh, Shimla, Mysore and Varanasi. However, when Saudi King reached Varanasi, Nehru ordered to cover all the temples and Idols with curtains that came in the way of the Royal Convoy. During his stay in Varanasi, Govt buildings were painted with the words "Kalma Tayyiba".

'Kalma Tayyiba' means 'There is not God but only Allah and Mohammed is his messenger'. In addition to it, Pooja and Aartis were also stopped at temples. I can call it the appeasement politics of the highest order and Nehru was indeed the greatest appeaser of all times.

in Vigraham flew. Kuttan immediately decorated Devi with his cloth which stuck to Vigraham and returned to his village and with his Umbrella. Devi came with him in that Umbrella and stayed in his place. This place is Mangottu Bhagavathi temple now.

Ameda Ksetram is located in the banks of Vembanad Lake. Temple is very unique and Powerful Sarpa Kavu.
Parashurama did Prathishta here. Vilakku which was lighted by Parasurama is still seen inside the temple.

The oil from this lamp is given to bhakthas for recovering from illness.

Sthala puranam says that, Once, when Parashurama was travelling through Kerala, he reached this place. As it was evening, he stepped into the Lake for Sandhya Vandanam
At that Sapthamathrukkal 👇

(Brahmini, maheshwari, kowmari, vaishnavi, varahi, indirani and chamundi) were travelling there on a tortoise through the water. The tortoise was unable to move, because the Water had made its way for Parashurama. The place where the tortoise became Still came to be known as 👇

Aama Ni Nidayam' ( Aama means tortoise) and later become ‘Ameda’. Parashurama came to know about the journey of Sapthamathrukkal. Thus, he did Prathishta for the Sapthamathrukkal here.
7 forms of Aadi Parashakthi are Sapthamathrukkal. Veerabhadra and Ganesha have Sannidhi here.

The main Garbhagriham in the temple is the Sapthamathrukkal. There are Sannidhi to Nagas, Nagayakshi and Vishnu too. Sarparadhana or snake worship is done here. Naga Panchami is famous here. Those who have Naga Dosham come here and get relieved of their Doshas.
