They pretend any discussion whatsoever of violence against women, and what policies we should have about woman-only spaces in response, can only imply one thing - "all trans women are violent" (OF COURSE most are not, and this is not the implication). They want.. 5/

This is the image that is being used by most of the BJP followers to beat their chest. But something very interesting caught my eye when I tried to go into the details of how of it. (2/n)

The survey was done by a US based company called Morning Consult who boasts of their political intelligence and analysis.

So Morning Consult says it has millions of users to interview and a revolutionary system to analyse the data. It tells us that any survey this company does should be taken as the Gospel.

Now remember the world population as of Jun 13, 2020 was 7.5 Billion. Remember it because we will need this info later.

How many people know they're autistic, so far.
These are the studies from various countries and teams.
England & Scotland data taken from the official school records.
The problem is, not everyone knows they're autistic.
The tests & assessments tend to find white males/

/because that's what they were expecting to find, many decades ago.
It simply never occurred to people that autism might 'look' different in e.g. females, BAME communities, older people, males who don't present in typically male ways, etc./

I suspect we are nowhere near finding most of the females.
Why do I suspect this? From conversation with diagnostic professionals who are updating their info and having 'oh heck!' moments.
From parents struggling to get their daughters diagnosed, whereas the son was easy/

/...from the number of autistic females I've encountered over the last decades who had gone 'under the radar' for so many years until someone finally had that 'aha!' moment.
And so many with identical presentations who are still struggling to get diagnosed/

Being clear that many diagnostic teams are fabulous.
It's simply a reality that the tools they were given were designed to pick white men.
Let's look at some examples:/

I did this exercise with someone a few months back, and his answer was Director at a FANG company in the US. He was thinking of doing a US MBA and then join a place like Amazon after graduation. I asked him to go to Linkedin, check profiles of Directors at Amazon.

Ignore outliers like someone selling their company to Amazon at 22 and then hacking the career ladder. Look at an average profile like yours. We all think we are exceptional/above average but we are probably not.

If you plot a graph, there will be people at the extremes.

And look at the middle.

Unless you are willing to take bets in your career with more risk than the average person, basically an alpha bet, mostly you will land there.

Also, remember that higher education is about optionality.

I was talking to a friend about why he chose to go for an MBA in spite of leading product at an early stage company. His answer was that if he ever wanted to move away from Product and take up a general management position at a non-tech company at 40, he should have that option.

So first the problem: its a tad complicated but basically goods that are imported into UK and then 'hubbed' onwards into Ireland or other parts of the EU are facing full EU tariffs - this is particularly bad for food stuffs, which attract high tariffs. Why is this? /2

It's a function of the Rules of Origin clauses that mean that goods have to sufficiently "originate" in the UK to qualify for zero-tariff entry to EU (and vice versa).

But to qualify, you have to do something to the goods - process them or add value - not just punt them on /3

The brilliant @AnnaJerzewska does a better job than me of explaining, but the important thing is that this is a nightmare for companies that 'hub' /distribute products through the UK - and that's both EU and UK companies /4

So both the @Foodanddrinkfed and EU groups like @CAOBISCO_EU (chocs etc) say they want the EU Commission to fix this with a derogation/waiver that takes into account proximity and interdependence of EU/UK supply chains. /5

It's great that more people are becoming aware of the importance of investing BUT, as we seek out more investment opportunities, you should know that unlike Shrek, all that glitters is not gold. Not all good looking investment opportunities are safe and legit.
 
You should also

know that an investment opportunity doesn't have to be a Ponzi scheme for you to run away from it.
 
Most of the investment opportunities available in the Nigerian Fintech space are 3rd party investment.
 
The way 3rd party investment works is: a company gets money from investors

to create value which can be in the form of a business (e.g. fish farm, real estate etc.). After a certain period, that business should generate profit and the company then pays investors their capital plus a share of that profit as returns.
 
It becomes a problem when the

investment doesn't generate any profit or the profit is not enough to pay investors the promised returns. This is where Ponzi/pyramid schemes come in.
 
A Ponzi scheme is when a company/person offers an investment opportunity to users but in reality, uses the money from newer

investors to pay older investors. Basically, robbing Peter to pay Paul. As you can imagine, Ponzi schemes are only profitable as long as there are enough Peters to take care of the Pauls. When the number of Peters that sign up to the "investment opportunity"/the amount of money

Assange's fiancée @StellaMoris1 & @khrafnsson & @SwaziJAF of WikiLeaks are being temporarily prevented from entering court building. It's unclear why. It could simply be because they've temporarily blocked people from entering for the Assange case and are allowing others through.

Women are the real election mobilizers, look at the percentage of those who vote during Nigerian elections, the data tells it all. Women do not only mobilize, they ensure these voters go out to cast their ballot. We’ve got more @staceyabrams in most Nigerian communities/villages.

Political elites place premium to “market women” votes, I recall how important the “iyaloja” position was/is in Lagos. It is the votes these women pull. When you need mobilizers. You can bank on women but importantly bank on women to also lead in your administration.

Elections show how men dominate politics in Nigeria. Although 47 percent of registered voters are women, according to the electoral commission @inecnigeria, their political representation is limited. That needs to change...

Since 1999, the story behind the elections in Nigeria can be told in numbers and women make up that number, we have continued to observe voter apathy at the ballots but women still show up strong when its time to vote 🗳. These women go underreported but they’ve become the force.

In London, it won't be long before a bail application hearing for WikiLeaks founder Julian Assange starts. I'm attending remotely and will have updates in this thread.

Some history of the case: after Assange was arrested and expelled from the Ecuador embassy, he was convicted of "jumping" bail when he sought asylum. He was issued a 50-week sentence.

Sentencing judge said he exploited his "privileged position to flout the law."

Assange was scheduled for release from Belmarsh high-security prison in September 2019, after completing his sentence for "jumping" bail (essentially, he was criminalized for seeking asylum).

On September 22, 2019, Judge Vanessa Baraitser declined to grant Assange bail.

"I have substantial ground for believing if I release you, you will abscond again."

In March 2020, as the COVID-19 pandemic intensified globally, Assange's legal team applied for bail that Baraitser denied.

"Mr. Assange’s past conduct shows the lengths he is prepared to go to avoid extradition proceedings," Baraitser
