Those protecting the BDS movement who say this is about freedom to choose are hiding behind a straw man.

Nobody is arguing the concept of boycott is wrong.
They are saying *THIS* boycott is clearly discriminatory and antisemitic. Which it is.

Boycotting, divesting and sanctioning Jews has been going on for 1000s of years.

Jewish communities were always shunned, ostracised and punished.

There is nothing new about the BDS movement at all. It is plain old antisemitism.

Christians, Muslims, Nazis and Communists have all boycotted Jews.

And each time they did - divestment and sanctions followed.

It was always the same. Make up stories to justify the boycott in a contemporary setting and then single out the Jews. Just like BDS

Along with the Nazi boycott, there was a Communist boycott too. The Communists even created a special group of extremist Jews to hide behind - so when they set out to attack Jewish life, they couldn't be accused of antisemitism (just like Jewish voice for Labour).

While the Izl@mic Zakat or xtian Charity is limited to people who adopts their faith the real meaning of Dāna,Dakshina & Bhiksha has all together a different purpose that doesn't come with the baggage of gaining something in return.

Many of our scriptures points out the duty, benefit and purpose of Dāna. Here are a few references from our Sanatani scriptures that attunes to charity.

In Bhagavad Gita, (17:20) Shri Krishna mentions that charity given without the expectation of anything in return is the highest form of Charity & is considered sattvik.
