Here's the one thread you need to read on BSC to actually DYOR and stop listening to all these talking heads on Twitter:

1. last year, Binance launched a PoA-based EVM compatible chain, compatible with common tools like metamask, trustwallet, etc. It works with ur eth address

 2. this point of interoperability is important, because a user doesn't need to deal with new wallets or infrastructure to use this chain, whereas past projects like Tron required you to download a new set of tools (TronLink wallet, use tronscan, etc.)
3. Disclaimer: This chain operates with 21 validators that have staked BNB. It is currently centralised, and can be conclusively described as permissioned (aka binance has selected who can operate these nodes and thus can have influence over this chain).
4. However, while that means the chain in theory could be manipulated by B, there are incentives to not screw over users' funds, double spend or rehypothecate anything. why? because it can jeopardise more lucrative business of https://t.co/1A08v5ds6f
5. think of it like proof-of-staked reputation. These attacks put binance in the most likely position to be attacked by double spends or other malicious activity on chain, in which binance, which custodies the mainnet real assets of many chains, is on the hook if things go wrong.
6. if binance were to try to user's funds, it would make less money from seeing lost trust on its already-lightning-rod of a centralised exchange, and thus reduce its expected profitability in the long run. it's the sunk cost of a multibillion dollar business
7. many people still believe that asian exchanges are all fake volume, and that large countries like India, Russia, & China don't matter in terms of trading volume. But despite the incredible usage & popularity increase in things like @Uniswap and @SushiSwap,
8. Binance wallets take up 6 out of the top 10 top gas wallets spent in the world. Binance is Ethereum's biggest power user. This is no fake volume, this is real cost that binance needs to pay literally 3% of ALL gas paid on ETH. not just some lunch money.
9. While some folks portray BSC as trying to defeat everyone else and force people to use its tools, I think the data clearly shows that Binance simply doesn't want its users to pay 3% of all ETH network fees for withdrawals (this doesn't include deposits which users pay)

11. I repeat, no other exchange or organisation in the world pays more to use Ethereum. Idk, seems pretty logical to me that a business that passes along fees to its users would like to do something to help users not pay millions of dollars in fees.
12. Next, we get into the actual BSC itself. It's a centralised fork, but it is fully interoperable with Ethereum - meaning that smart contract developers can launch the same contracts they have on ETH. Minimal tweaking necessary. if you use truffle/hardhat, easy!
13. Next, for developers, 30% of all gas fees paid by users to interact with smart contracts are returned to smart contract developers to encourage adoption & incentive align devs to build useful things. https://t.co/3w0bC8nK8x
14. Add on the fact that it costs maybe 200x less to deploy a contract on BSC than ETH, it becomes an interesting testing ground for developers b/c it has:
a. users
b. cheap contract deploy costs
c. rebates if the product gets real usage
15. The most used contract in the BSC ecosystem in terms of gas fees is 0x05fF2B0DB69458A0750badebc4f9e13aDd608C7F, the @PancakeSwap router.
19 days into this month (roughly 2/3rds of this month), this contract alone has generated 12,233.34337 BNB spent by users
16. using an estimated current price of $300, thats about 3.6M USD that this contract alone has generated in $BNB fees spent. 30% goes to the devs of pancake which are used to buy back CAKE from the open market.
17. I repeat, a decentralised business on BSC earns 1.2M USD in WEEKLY fee revenue from this fee rebate program. That is a 60M dollar anuual revenue business from gas fee rebates alone, not even talking about any fees from the trading itself.
18. how many of your defi projects generate 60M revenue in a year in total? Even makerdao is on pace to barely scratch past $70M USD in MKR bought back and burnt.
19. anyways, those who say that this is all fake volume don't realise that binance withdrawals on ETH dominate 5% entire ethactivity; you could estimate that users spend an equal amount to deposit in to Binance, so ~10% ETH network activity could be attributed to binance.
20. Then you remember that Binance doesn't only operate on Ethereum. It supports over 600 trading pairs for all kinds of assets, and then you start to realise as a builder how large of an audience this is.
21. Binance Smart chain allows Binance to wrap and custody mainnet assets that are not as easy to wrap seamlessly onto ETH, or require costly bridges to wrap into smart contract chains. While it's not trustless, it is cheap, and users want to use their assets in smart contracts
22. This means that BSC is able to allow developers of lending pools, AMMs, etc. to support "cross-chain" assets out of the box, because you can let users trade DOTB (binance wrapped dot, when dot is not ERC20) versus ETHB.
23. This also means that cexes which do not support spot deposits of other assets b/c they lack integration resources to support every single mainnet token out there, doesn't have to now. They can just support BEP20 deposits and automatically support most assets binance has.
24. Thus, it's a win-win for other exchanges to support BEP20's too. One integration to rule hundreds of chains sounds like a pretty good deal to me, even if it means giving more power or control to one exchange or one entity.
25. anyways, twitter only allows me to make 25 tweets in a tweet thread, but maybe this will explain the economic reasons why BSC should've been built by an exchange like binance. Maybe later this week i'll dive into why BSC makes sense for the end user, cheers

I've watched it change from an impromptu conversation or watch party platform to a place for people to build their professional reputations and network.

2/ In many ways it's matured into a more effective professional platform than LinkedIn.

LinkedIn is (mostly) about collecting the professional contacts you've met.

Twitter is a place to meet new people.

That much hasn't


3/ What also hasn't changed is its power for networking.

This is particularly useful if you break out of your echo chamber and talk, build relationships with people doing tangentially related things.

You're bricklaying and with patience it pays off.


4/ What has changed is a growing population of people being *intentional* about the use of Twitter for their professional lives.

Observations on what's working for them:

5/ They "Build in public" - sharing behind the scenes perspectives on whatever it is you're doing professionally.

What do people not know about what you do?

Stick within your expertise, with focus, where people see you are an authority - that’s where you grow a following.

THE DANGERS OF FEMINISTS THEORIES OF DISPUTE RESOLUTION

Mary(Not real name) was a friend I met on Twitter. We had good conversations but disagreed on how Twitter court of public opinions handled rape issues. We agreed to meet and our first meeting was at her place.

She brought up the issue of why I always sat on the fence and why I always wanted to hear from the other party because it means I support the “rapist” – RAPIST? I found it funny because how do you label someone a rapist just from an allegation?

You didn't hear from the accused & never want to hear the details of the allegation because you deem it insensitive. Mary explained that she was a victim and she is still traumatized and she asked if I knew just being a guy suffices to make her feel unsafe because she was alone?

That is why she normally prefers having her flatmate around or at least pretend her flatmate was around when she had a male visitor. I said her fears were valid because, stranger danger.
We ate lunch, gisted, played scrabble (which she cheated to win. Lool) and saw a movie.

When it was time to leave, I turned and asked her, do you know if you went on Twitter to say I raped you, nobody would ask question? They will believe because you are a woman. She nodded in the affirmative and said she knows.

A lot of people are trying to figure out what UCP means by putting this biblical quote out into the twitter verse at Christmas.

Many have piped up with commentary and criticized the mix of religion and politics. A convention long held in Canada.


The quote is often repeated at Christmas. “A child is born...” makes reference to the birth of Jesus. Makes sense.

But what does it mean?

Christians (and other religious observers with their religious texts) have made an art form out of interpreting what passages mean.

To those most radically devout (some might say zealously faithful), hidden divine meanings are gleaned from “correctly” reading the bible.

That’s what Dominionists believe. That god himself wrote the bible. Through inspiration of the actual authors, & only they can interpret.

And thus, the “inerrant“ bible serves as a strict road map to save ones soul.

Many devout Christians view the passage as a prophecy made centuries before the birth of Christ. A promise made by god through one of his prophets. Jews interpret the passage very differently.

The Anglican Priest is (obviously) correct about this being supersessionism, and a form of Anti-Semitism.

Troublesome as it is for a Canadian provincial govt to be tweeting out Anti-Semitic propaganda, that’s not the only meaning this passage has for Dominionist Christians.

I’m not a scientist, so obviously do correct me if I’m wrong. (Heck, this is twitter, I don’t need to ask that do I?)

BUT a virus doesn’t mutate in *nothing*, does it, it doesn’t mutate when it’s on the handle of the supermarket door or even in the air you’ve just breathed out.

It mutates *in a host*. And the most sure fire way for a virus to find a wide variety of hosts in which to mutate is to do precious little to control the spread of the virus. To have policies which amount to “take it on the chin”. To have an ‘acceptable’ death level.

To allow the virus to run absolutely rampant through one section of the population (children) because stopping it doing so would mean making a politically unpopular decision (closing the schools).

Seen some people (scientists, I mean, not your uncle Jim) saying this virus is now more transmissible in children and like... what did they THINK would happen if you allow the virus unfettered access to kids?

It adapts! It adapts to its fucking hosts! It becomes better at infecting them! Like, the whole fucking point for a virus is to be able to make copies of itself. It’s actually not that arsed about killing or harming you.

I'm pressing the "tweet" button as I type, and I'm typing as I think, so there's every possibility that this will drift into tangents and/or nowhere. Of course, that's true pretty much every time I start threading.

I know diddly-squat about physiology.

Friends and family who *do* know anything about physiology regularly mock my (apparently bizarre) theories of how bodies work.

I am not a trustworthy narrator when it comes to things like How Vaccines Work.

I know diddly-squat about epidemiology.

Unlike physiology, where I am firmly in the domain of Messrs. Dunning and Kruger, I've read enough about the subject to understand how little I know.

This is a complicated subject, where obvious truths are seldom either obvious or true.

I also know diddly-squat about public health policy.

Public *transportation* policy is way more in my wheelhouse. But this at least lets me make some useful analogies.

…I mentioned digressions? Yeah, I just started to write a very long digression about public transportation paradoxes, and it was taking away from the point I wanted to make.

I don’t know who wrote ep. 52 but ep. 53 was going strong once more on symbols: roses, stones, fire and trees were incorporated and especially the ReyMir dialogues were written very well. I truly loved every ReyMir scene.

परन्तु पीपल के कोटर में रखा बालक भूख प्यास से तड़पने लगा। जब कुछ नहीं मिला तो वो कोटर में पड़े पीपल के गोदों (फल) को खाकर बड़ा होने लगा। कालान्तर में पीपल के फलों और पत्तों को खाकर बालक का जीवन किसी प्रकार सुरक्षित रहा।

एक दिन देवर्षि नारद वहां से गुजर रहे थे ।नारद ने पीपल के कोटर में बालक को देख कर उसका परिचय मांगा -
नारद बोले - बालक तुम कौन हो?
बालक - यही तो मैं भी जानना चहता हूँ ।
नारद - तुम्हारे जनक कौन हैं?

तब नारद ने आँखें बन्द कर ध्यान लगाया ।


तत्पश्चात आश्चर्यचकित हो कर बालक को बताया कि 'हे बालक! तुम महान दानी महर्षि दधीचि के पुत्र हो । तुम्हारे पिता की अस्थियों का वज्रास्त्र बनाकर ही देवताओं ने असुरों पर विजय पायी थी।तुम्हारे पिता की मृत्यु मात्र 31 वर्ष की वय में ही हो गयी थी'।

बालक - मेरे पिता की अकाल मृत्यु का क्या कारण था?
नारद - तुम्हारे पिता पर शनिदेव की महादशा थी।

I'm still happy that I launched a paid app bcs it involved extra work:

- backend for processing payments (+ permissions, webhooks, etc)
- integration with payment processor
- UI for license activation in Electron
- machine activation limit
- autoupdates
- mailgun emails

etc.

These things seemed super scary at first. I always thought it was way too much work and something would break. But I'm glad I persisted. So far the only problem I have is that mailgun is not delivering the license keys to certain domains like https://t.co/6Bqn0FUYXo etc. 👌

The Straddle is my favorite trade these days. But more often than not, one needs to adjust to make a good return from it. There are many ways to do this depending on your view, psychology and imagination. Will discuss a few that I use

The Straddle is a delta neutral strategy and it is important to keep deltas in check during the course of the Trade and not let them run away from you. Of course Volatility is the elephant in the room- but not going there as that will require a separate discussion

The first and most common method is to go 'inverted.' That is to say to shift the untested side to generate additional Premium and increase the runway to Breakeven. So if you start with a Straddle at 700 and price goes to 740, you can move the PE up to say 720.

How much should you move the untested side? While again this is a matter of skill, experience and artistry, the rule of thumb is to cut deltas by half. Remember, prices will move and you have to allow sufficient room for them to fluctuate

The second method is to shift the entire Straddle in the direction of the move. So if you have a 700 Straddle and Price goes to 740, you can shift the Straddle to 720. If you time this right, it can generally be done at virtually no cost or minimal cost.
