As the evidence is rolled out that political partisans inside the DOJ/FBI targeted the Trump campaign with a counterintel op to entrap it by sending confidential intel assets posing as Russian agents, the desperation is getting palpable.

Alexander Downer, Stefan Halper and Joseph Mifsud are all tied to the *Western* intel community. Did I say tied? I meant they work inside it, have deep roots there.

All 3 live/work inside the UK/US/Austraila intel community.

Yet the narrative of the Trump/Russia Election Collusion story demands at least ONE of these three men just HAS to be a real, live Russian spy.

So they've picked Mifsud. Too much is publicly known about Downer - who give interviews - and Halper to pretend they are Putin spies.

LOL ok let's see a show of hands. Who *really believes* this meeting on board Air Force One between President Donald J. Trump and Deputy AG Rod Rosenstein was about *Rosenstein begging Trump for his job*?

This was a high level briefing to the President by the guy *directly in charge* of handling the declassifying/unredacting of all the DOJ/FBI #SpyGate documents.

But the NYT's was leaked a cover story abour RR plotting to get Trump impeached by using the 25th Amendment.

Trump's already given the order that this must happen. So this was RR briefing Trump just before the documents start being rolled out with 28 days to go until the Nov. 6 midterm elections.

In regards to the #CapitolCoup, I’m in a unique position. I monitored forums ahead of time and then was present for the coup itself.

These are my observations based on what I saw and the evidence that’s been collected so far. I reserve the right to adjust my analysis as needed.

Let’s talk about the organization of the coup first. Seeing some people insist that the coup must have been highly planned and coordinated.

Yes and no. This was a #StochasticCoup. We’ll see little evidence of direct communication between Trump and the insurrectionists.

Within the insurrectionists, there was not one group that executed the storming of the Capitol.

Rather, there were a number of smaller groups working independently towards the same goal. I expect you’ll see little evidence that these various groups communicated with each other.

What you will see is detailed planning and coordination within these small groups.

Then there were the joyriders, those Trump supporters who weren’t directly involved in any plotting but who were more than happy to go along for the ride once the coup was in motion.

After four years, the insurrectionists were carefully attuned to Trump’s messaging.

Every tweet and statement of his was treated as marching orders and carefully dissected for meaning.

It’s why shutting down Trump’s Twitter account was so important.

1. Short thread - on the various claims we're seeing from Republican politicians over the last few days that the Democratic push for accountability is "divisive." Damn right it's divisive - that is what it has to be.

2. It is intended to enforce a clear division between those who accept and are committed to democracy and those who are willing to turn to violence when the vote doesn't turn out the way that they want it to.

3. One of the basic implications of Adam Przeworski's theoretic work is that democracy is made out of mutually reinforcing expectations, and those expectations are fragile. If some actors think they would be better off defecting from the democratic bargain, they will.

4. In other words: democracy and armed factionalism are far closer than we think, or we would like them to be. This means that it is incredibly important to police the boundaries between them. Allowing some to turn to violence can lead to expectation collapse and cascading ruin.

5. When we allow the divisions to become blurred, that means that we are running the perpetual risk of things getting fucked up. If a major faction turns to violence, and no-one responds, things can get really fucked up really, really fast.

1/ From 2014-17 Whitaker worked for World Patent Marketing—which during his tenure defrauded consumers out of $26 million and was successfully prosecuted by the feds. His involvement in the scam confirmed he had loose morals and that the feds would never want to employ him again.

2/ Despite the seeming impossibility of a man with Whitaker's background getting a job at Justice ever again—he'd been found to have used his former title as a US attorney to fraudulently threaten consumers with valid complaints with criminal penalties—Whitaker found an opening.

3/ Within 60 days of parachuting out of World Patent Marketing as it was being fined $26 million by the feds, Whitaker was working for CNN and telling a fellow attorney panelist that his purpose in working for CNN was to get noticed by one man—Donald Trump—and thereby get a job.

4/ Whitaker spent his time at CNN making ludicrous statements about the Mueller probe: there was no obstruction or collusion, he said; Mueller had no authority to look into any aspect of Trump's finances or to subpoena him, he said. All the while, he hoped Trump was watching him.
