Why aren't we making more noise about those who were complicit in this? Specifically the Pentagon officials who paused on the National Guard response. Because they're just as guilty.

First prediction: This is only the start of the shitshow.

They're already talking on Parler about Jan 19th and about how disappointed they are that their dear leader threw them under the bus.

This will serve as fuel.
They frothed at the mouth for a civil war ever since Pres. Obama's first inauguration. They stormed the Capitol and found themselves welcome there.

They learned that they can do all sorts of shit without consequences.

This is very, very bad.

When a narcissist gets away without consequences for too long, they can and will destroy everything in their path if it makes them feel good.

These people are of the same breed.

Worse, they actively believe their own delusion. It's almost impossible to deprogram that.

Second prediction: trump won't get 25th'd.
Pence has enabled his boss every second of the last 4 years. He isn't going to stop now.
Anyone who thinks to contrary needs to look at what he's done the last 4 years: kiss trump's tail end.

Third prediction: impeachment/removal is very likely if enough Republicans realize that continuing to kiss trump's tail end like they've done the last 4 years is going to torpedo their careers.

I think enough of them realized that.

I would like to hope, anyway.

Fourth prediction: granted, this is purely speculative, but.... I legitimately think that this will be enough for trump and his entire cabal to be arrested. Sedition is a crime. He's been videotaped.
And every. fucking. person. saw. him. encouraging them.

The real victory over these people will be impossible without harsh, immediate, and very forceful pushback by the law.

@FBI warned us in 2006 about white supremacists infiltrating law enforcement. Wednesday was the result.

The first step is cleaning house within law enforcement. Purge every. single. white. supremacist. They're on social media. Compile a database, flush them out, and blackball them from ever working in the law again. All the Darren Wilsons of every precinct.

The second step is to retaliate against everyone who thought that storming the Capitol was a good idea.

Arrest. Every. Single. One.
Maximum mandatory sentences.
Shame their families.
Blackball them from future employment.

It worked with Charlottesville Nazis.

Show them, BY LEGAL AVENUES ONLY, that their actions have consequences. If this means they never hold a job again, are spit on in the streets, are dumped by their spouses - fair game.

Remember that these are spoiled brats who never learned consequences are a thing.

But most crucially, MAINTAIN THESE CONSEQUENCES FOR LIFE.

Because people have short memories, and they forget the very simple fact that no leopard in history has ever changed its spots. If we shame them once, shame them continuously, because they will simply learn...

... that if they wait long enough, they'll be forgiven, and then they can resume the same shit that they did last time.

Unless we as a people, as a nation, retaliate THOROUGHLY, then I can guarantee you: this will only continue and get worse.
