Senator Collins references Kavanaugh’s judicial record. She disagrees w notion he will eliminate ACA protections, pointing to his dissent in Holder. She argues that his views on severability is narrow.

She addresses the concern about Kavanaugh protecting the POTUS. She argues that Kavanaugh defers to legislative authority. She argues Clinton got 2 justices confirmed while under Whitewater investigation and 3 Nixon appointees ruled against Nixon ruled against Nixon.

She references Kavanaugh’s reliance upon cases which sustain judicial authority and judicial checks to executive branch authority.

She argues that Kavanaugh considers the same sex marriage precedent to be “an important landmark opinion.” (This can mean ANYTHING!)

Re: access to contraception: she misses the mark ENTIRELY! Kavanaugh SIDED with the Priests for Life! Re: Roe v Wade: she believes that Kavanaugh will follow precedent. (Problem is, once Kavanaugh is a SCOTUS judge, he SETS the precedent!)

Collins is in DENIAL! She is pretzel-twisting 🦄🦄. She surely knows that the SCOTUS sets precedent!

This is IMPORTANT. She says Kavanaugh views Griswald as suitable due to 2 cases from the 1920’s. Those cases were PRE-WARREN cases. The Griswald rationale is based upon the court’s finding that there is a “penumbra of rights” which emanate from the bill of rights.

This penumbra of rights is not enumerated. This is what defines the “liberal” Warren court which the Judicial Crisis Network and Federalist Society are working to REVERSE. That Kavanaugh reached back to the 1920’s cases and ignores the “penumbra” is SIGNIFICANT!

Collins frets about “departing from the presumption of innocence.” She calls the gang rape allegation” outlandish.

She finds Dr. Ford’s testimony to be compelling but uncorroborated. None of the 4 witnesses has any recollection. Kavanaugh denies. Ford’s friend does not recall.

She applies a “more likely than not” standard and concludes that the allegations cannot prevent Kavanaugh from serving on the court.

@SenatorCollins must be replaced. She is a Vichy collaborator who is responsible for women in America losing their right of choice under Roe v Wade. She is gaslighting America. She is knowingly lying about the value of judicial precedent. She ignores Kavanaugh’s eugenics case.

I have heard enough of this Vichy, lying woman.
