It reminded me of a quote from Dale Carnegie:

"no one every kicks a dead dog... and the more important the dog, the more satisfaction people get in kicking him".

The act of kicking helps the kicker feel significant.

99% of the time it means you are doing something great.
Many people find terrible pleasure in disparaging those who are more successful than they are.

The next time someone is talking sh*t...
...take it as a compliment in disguise.
