Some thoughts from the update on the President’s condition:

They said illness for 72 hours? Seems to be a different timeline than we heard.
They also said he got antibodies 48 hours ago. That’s Thursday morning.
Also they said not on oxygen NOW. Repeatedly. Which suggests he had been on at some point.
Won’t talk about date of his last negative test. This is a BIG question.
Reports that PPE protocols are the same as for everyone else.
Daily ultrasounds?!?! That seems excessive.
Another oxygen question. It seems pretty clear that he was on oxygen.
NO HYDROXYCHLOROQUINE.
Contact tracing per CDC guidelines. Good.
Thursday afternoon was tested. Pcr confirmation that evening. Same as what we were told.
For remdesivir: on 5 day treatment. May need to stay at Walter Reed for full course. But constantly reconsidered.
Any other risk factors?

‘Not particularly’

He’s male. He’s 74. He’s ‘slightly overweight’.
Other vitals:

HR 70s
BP good

Earlier they said oxygen at 96%
Why was he transferred to Walter Reed?

“Because he’s president of the United States”
Not being proned
He clearly received oxygen. Good lord, just say it.
First Lady doing well!
And an abrupt end!
MY TAKEAWAYS:

The timeline is off. 72 hours since his diagnosis?

He was clearly on oxygen at some point. I mean, come on. This is important.

No answer on steroids (it was asked). That would be very very revealing.

We don't know his last negative test. We need to know.
We're told he has daily ultrasounds. Not clear why that would be the case. Would rather know the results of a CXR or CT scan.

Loads more questions than answers quite frankly.
Still stuck on this point that he was 'diagnosed' 72 hours ago.

We just found out 36 hours ago.

I'm confused. Maybe they misspoke?

More from Trump

Enough! Reporters doing it again. Both-sidesing. U enable Trump's propaganda by doing this

Reporter's both-sides question:

"What was your role in what happened at the Capitol?

Proper question:

"Are you going to take responsibility for your role in inciting insurrection?"

The press enabled the storming of the Capitol because they never held GOP accountable for pushing #TheBigLie that election was stolen

I have been yelling about this for months. Starting here where @TerryMoran got it right

But after press returned to form

Not long after Nov 4th press started both-sidesing again. Question Republicans were asked over & over was:

"Do u think Biden won?"

This enabled the coup

The proper question at minimum:

"Why are u enabling this charade? Why are u spreading

After repeatedly yelling that press wasn't demanding answers of GOP for spreading #TheBigLie I hoped this political violence on Dec 10th would finally get press to demand answers. But no. They continued to both-sides

I noted how impotent the American press was acting by treating #TheBigLie as credible. The press is supposed to hold people in power accountable, but beside @TerryMoran on election night, they by and large
1. Yes, Trump will claim to intend to target GOP senators up for reelection in '22 (like he did to Thune with Kristi Noem) if they don't join in @HawleyMO's sedition on Jan. 6, but the fact is, it's not clear whether Trump will be successful in ANY of those efforts & voting yes

2. to hedge off these threats will also create fissures & fractures for these incumbents among other elements of their party that could complicate their renominations. Indeed, what worries me the most about the potential for the country to slip into @anneapplebaum territory is

3. that what should be robust and intense push back from the party establishment against actually ending democracy- bc that's what Trump's request would do, if it was granted, is fairly muted. What we SHOULD be seeing from the mainstream of the party is threats to strip committee

4. assignments, chairs, privileges, even reelection funds, if anyone gets involved in this bullshit- in the House & the Senate, and the fact that you don't see it is more than a story of McConnell & McCarthy being afraid of Trump & his base. Its a story of receptivity, of the

5. level of receptivity the congressional and party leadership is dealing with both within the rank and file membership of the party and within its donor class, and THAT, my friends, is why you find me so concerned. That, and my decision to finally pull @anneapplebaum's book

I'm going to do two history threads on Ethiopia, one on its ancient history, one on its modern story (1800 to today). 🇪🇹

I'll begin with the ancient history ... and it goes way back. Because modern humans - and before that, the ancestors of humans - almost certainly originated in Ethiopia. 🇪🇹 (sub-thread):

The first likely historical reference to Ethiopia is ancient Egyptian records of trade expeditions to the "Land of Punt" in search of gold, ebony, ivory, incense, and wild animals, starting in c 2500 BC 🇪🇹

Ethiopians themselves believe that the Queen of Sheba, who visited Israel's King Solomon in the Bible (c 950 BC), came from Ethiopia (not Yemen, as others believe). Here she is meeting Solomon in a stain-glassed window in Addis Ababa's Holy Trinity Church. 🇪🇹

References to the Queen of Sheba are everywhere in Ethiopia. The national airline's frequent flier miles are even called "ShebaMiles". 🇪🇹
