 What is momentum trading ?

Momentum investing is a trading strategy in which Traders buy stocks at high price and sell even at higher price .
The goal is buying opportunities in short-term uptrends and then sell when the Stock starts to lose momentum.

Skilles Required:
Skilled traders understand when to enter into a position, how long to hold it for, and when to exit; they can also react to short-term, news-driven spikes or selloffs.
Risks of momentum trading include moving into a position too early, closing out too late

Identify the trend
Moving Averages Plot the Averge Price of a particular Period
Example : Whenever 21 ema is sloping upwards its called Shoterm uptrend
Whenever 21 ema is sloping downwards its called dowtrend
Whenever 21 ema is sideways its called consolidation

Use this simple trend following system to buy and sell stocks
Works well in trending market and trending stocks
Ideal place to sell a stock is its moved more than 15% away from 21 ema in 3 days
Risk increases the farther you buy from 21 ema

Conditions of Relative Strength :

Relative Strength has a reference zero line
Line >0 Stock is Outperforming
Line <0 Stock is Underperforming

RS period 65 as we have around 65 trading days in 3 month
RS reference as Nifty50 as benchmark index

Stocks near 52 week High
Stocks near All time High
Stocks staying above 21 ema
Stocks where the Relative Strength Line is making new Highs
Stocks that are giving Volume Burst

Enter Stocks on Breakout of 52 Week High
Stock Should be in uprend and have HH HL formation for better Win rate
Volume Should be High on Breakout
Stock generally retest the breakout area hence add 50% position on breakout and 50% position on Retest

Momentum is highest in RS+ Stocks where RS is increasing and is positive from long time
Momentum stays only for 2 to 3 days and then fades away or stock pulls back to breakout area to take support

Hence main aim as momentum trader is to catch that quick movement in 2 to 3 days and get out before pullback
Selling as price goes up is important for momentum trading
One shouldn’t wait for price reversals otherwise you may loose all your gains

Momentum trading for a bigger time period :

Keep holding stocks till it is above 21 ema
Exit as soon as stock breaks 21 ema even if RS is positive
Momentum fades a little when stock breaks 21 ema and now another stock should be picked

Have Risk Reward Ratio of 1:2 Min

What is RELATIVE STRENGTH?

Relative strength is a strategy used in momentum investing and in identifying value stocks.

It focuses on investing in stocks or other investments that have performed well relative to the market as a whole or to a relevant benchmark.

Annapoorneshwari is the Devi of nutrition and food. The literal meaning of Annapoorneshwari is “Feeding one and all”. Anyone who comes here is offered meals and shelter within the premises.

Maharshi Agastya is believed to have done pratishtha here.

Once, Shiva and Parvati had an argument. Shiva declared everything in the world including food to be Maya or illusion. To prove him wrong, Devi Parvati disappeared resulting in entire Earth becoming still.


Taking pity, Devi appeared as Annapoorna and relieved everyone.
Another belief is that once Shiva beheaded Brahma and his skull got stuck in Shiva’s hand. He was cursed that till the skull is not full of food or grains, it will remain stuck to his hands.


Shiva went everywhere and asked for food but the skull was never full. He finally came here and Maa Annapoorna filled the skull with grains and reversed Shiva’s curse.

It is believed that who ever visits Devi Annapoorna here will never be without food in their lives.

महर्षि कश्यप की तेरह पत्नियां थीं।लेकिन विनता व कद्रु नामक अपनी दो पत्नियों से उन्हे विशेष लगाव था।एक दिन महर्षि आनन्दभाव में बैठे थे कि तभी वे दोनों उनके समीप आकर उनके पैर दबाने लगी।


प्रसन्न होकर महर्षि कश्यप बोले,"मुझे तुम दोनों से विशेष लगाव है, इसलिए यदि तुम्हारी कोई विशेष इच्छा हो तो मुझे बताओ। मैं उसे अवश्य पूरा करूंगा ।"

कद्रू बोली,"स्वामी! मेरी इच्छा है कि मैं हज़ार पुत्रों की मां बनूंगी।"
विनता बोली,"स्वामी! मुझे केवल एक पुत्र की मां बनना है जो इतना बलवान हो की कद्रू के हज़ार पुत्रों पर भारी पड़े।"
महर्षि बोले,"शीघ्र ही मैं यज्ञ करूंगा और यज्ञ के उपरांत तुम दोनो की इच्छाएं अवश्य पूर्ण होंगी"।


महर्षि ने यज्ञ किया,विनता व कद्रू को आशीर्वाद देकर तपस्या करने चले गए। कुछ काल पश्चात कद्रू ने हज़ार अंडों से काले सर्पों को जन्म दिया व विनता ने एक अंडे से तेजस्वी बालक को जन्म दिया जिसका नाम गरूड़ रखा।जैसे जैसे समय बीता गरुड़ बलवान होता गया और कद्रू के पुत्रों पर भारी पड़ने लगा


परिणामस्वरूप दिन प्रतिदिन कद्रू व विनता के सम्बंधों में कटुता बढ़ती गयी।एकदिन जब दोनो भ्रमण कर रहीं थी तब कद्रू ने दूर खड़े सफेद घोड़े को देख कर कहा,"बता सकती हो विनता!दूर खड़ा वो घोड़ा किस रंग का है?"
विनता बोली,"सफेद रंग का"।
तो कद्रू बोली,"शर्त लगाती हो? इसकी पूँछ तो काली है"।

NARHARI AND BHAGWAN PANDURANG/VITTHAL

Once a goldsmith by the name of Narhari lived in Pandharpur. He excelled in his craft. He had vowed not to look at Pandurang or visit his mandir ever, as he was a Shiva Bhakt.
One day, a wealthy merchant visited him.


He wanted a gold girdle studded with precious gems, to be made for Prabhu Vitthal. Narhari refused to make it as it was for Vitthal.
After many requests, he agreed to make the girdle but asked the merchant to bring the measurement from the mandir as he himself would not go there


The measurement was given n he made the girdle. When the girdle was put on Vitthal, it was loose. Narhari had to shorten it. Now the girdle became tight. So Narhari was forced to take measurement on his own. He had to go to the mandir but went blindfolded to avoid seeing Vitthal


In the Mandir, when blindfolded Narhari touched Vitthal, he felt as if he was touching Shiva with matted hair, the moon, snake in His neck and Trishul in His hand. Ecstatic with joy, he removed the blindfold to see Shiva but he found the murti of Vitthal with Rukmini there.


He realised the truth that there was no difference between Vitthal and Shiva. Narhari at once fell at the feet of Panduranga. He then took the measurement of the waist of Vitthal and this time the ornament fit the Murti perfectly.
