it seems to me that not many know that navalny is an avowed nationalist & racist and not just a blonde guy who likes to gently kiss his blonde wife before going to jail and watches “rick & morty”. so here’s a little thread and some of it is pretty personal.

 here is navalny’s 2007 video. “a tooth without a root is called “dead”. a nationalist is someone who doesn’t want the russian root to be removed from the word “russia”. we have the right to be russian in russia, and we will defend it.”
i downloaded it to make sure it won’t disappear but it is still shared by navalny’s official youtube channel. btw, in this video, navalny is introduced in the caption as a “certified nationalist”.

russian marches are an especially hot topic today because it’s the 11th anniversary of the murder of antifascists stanislav markelov & anastasia baburova at the hands of neo-nazis in russia (i have not found any mentions of that murder by navalny)
the man who masterminded markelov/baburova murder (and other ones) ilya goryachev, marched in the russian marches the very same years when navalny did. here’s some stuff about him

eventually, navalny stopped going to “russian marches”. so did goryachev, because he’s serving life in prison now. but there have not been indications that navalny is willing to denounce his views

and now for some personal stuff. when navalny was running for mayor of moscow in 2013 i visited his campaign office and right then and there they were teaching their volunteers to deflect on questions about his nationalism
the coach, a man whose name i forgot but could find, said navalny’s nationalism doesn’t matter, and then went on a tirade about the need to see “faces like my own” on the streets of moscow, instead of people of other races
i’m a mutt (russian/greek/jewish/ukrainian) as many reading this know, and this was so cravenly and gross that i burst out crying then and there. honestly, anyone who isn’t a monster would be angered. i should have done smth else but i was flabberghasted and unprepared for it
i feel like a conscious effort has been done in the following years to whitewash navalny’s reputation, especially as he realized that socialism is trendy & decided to go after a younger audience who have progressive views on ethnicity, but it was superficial

growing up in moscow in the 00s i have seen a lot of disgusting things done by nationalists. they beat up so many of my friends. they brutally killed people. they recruited young idiots. these were the worst years because putin’s government fully supported them.
later, putin’s govt began to crack down on various groups & using nationalist ideas for lofty ideals & imperial ideology, where street combat was not advantageous. but every once in a while horrible crimes still happened, still happen.
political repressions are bad. but most of support for navalny is just a fandom that does not center the real issues like freedom of assembly in russia, the need for a more prominent opposition but most importantly shifts the focus from what the political situation really is
moreover, engaging in the navalny narrative hyped by intelligence/tech/liberal circles does absolutely nothing for russian working class but everything for sanctions against russia & a new nationalist, racist but pro-western neo-liberal order instead of the old, anti-western one
the only way to fight against nationalism in russia is to be a communist & against all sorts of liberalism (i'll never tire of saying that liberalism invites nationalism). but even communism is marred w nationalism there so one has to know the context to be able to stay on course
politics is not just responding to the hype. please start using your own head, researching vigorously, and placing any event in context of other events. using navalny’s case to prop him up as a folk hero is very dangerous: don’t lose the plot
and if you really really need to support a political prisoner, why not pay attention to julian assange? no western politicos speak for him, and yet the man who exposed numerous imperialist war crimes is now in a covid-infested jail, facing a death penalty. #FreeAssangeNOW

Before we get too far into 2021, I thought I’d write a thread recapping some of the research that came out of my lab in 2020. Most of this work was led by my talented team of graduate students, Kerrianne Morrison, @kmdebrabander, and @DesiRJones.

Back in January, a news story was published about Kerrianne’s study showing improved social interaction outcomes for autistic adults when paired with another autistic partner.

Another paper published early in 2020 (it appeared a few months earlier online) showed that traditional standalone tasks of social cognition are less predictive of functional and social skills among autistic adults than commonly assumed in autism research.


Next, @kmdebrabander led and published an innovative study about how well autistic and non-autistic adults can predict their own cognitive and social cognitive performance.

A woman just lost her life due to ectopic pregnancy!

It's a pregnancy in which the embryo attaches outside the womb. It can be life-threatening.

But we can save lives by helping educate women on our Timelines with this.

In the human body, a fertilized egg hardly survives outside the womb. If allowed to grow, it may damage nearby organs & cause severe blood loss.

The bulk of ectopic pregnancies occur in/along the Fallopian tubes.

Some in the ovaries, cervix or a random location in the abdomen.


The usual symptoms of ectopic pregnancy a woman may experience esp. in early pregnancy are;

* Abdominal pain
* Vaginal bleeding, &
* Amenorrhea (missing your period)

Other pregnancy symptoms like breast fullness & occasional nausea may be there too.

But the common DANGER SIGNS of ectopic pregnancy that may signify rupture are;

🔴 Rigid abdomen

🔴 Severe abdominal pain

🔴 Shoulder tip pain, &

🔴 Signs of shock such as cold hands & feet.

With these signs, immediate medical attention is needed to save the woman's life!

Your chances of having an ectopic pregnancy are higher if you have;

1. Previous ectopic pregnancy

2. STI's like gonorrhea

3. Fertility treatments like IVF*

4. Fallopian tube surgeries

5. Pregnancy while using an Intrauterine Contraceptive Device

6. Smoking history! 🚭

are encouraged to refer to themselves as ‘young at heart’ and ‘as young as you feel’ and other such crap and told to ‘never give in to age’ which is ludicrous. Cosmetic surgery is now a thing but I can tell you what the surgeons and marketing

men won’t - it does not make you look young. You’re just an old woman who looks like at best, she’s had a great holiday and at worst like she was was trapped in a wind tunnel. Old is good. Old is meritorious. Old is survival. Old means you didn’t die young

If you want to get in the best shape of your life by 2023 read this:

1. Get 80-90% of your calories from single ingredient nutrient dense foods.

2. Avoid processed foods as much as possible because they're addictive, devoid of nutrients & leave you feeling empty.

3. Eating similar meals every day is an underrated way to get lean.

4. Lift weights 2-4x a week. Use progressive overload to build muscle.

5. Progressive overload is simply doing more through reps, weight or frequency,

6. Eat .8 to 1 gram of protein per pound of body weight. This helps you build & retain muscle. Eat protein with every meal.

7. Avoid trying to lose weight. Focus on creating good habits. The first is focused on an outcome the latter is focused on your lifestyle.

8. Your aim is to become the type of person who stays in shape. In order to change your body your identity must come along for the journey.

9. Eat your meals on a schedule. This will help train your hunger & circadian rhythms.

10. Replace snacking with water & drink it before meals. You usually want to snack because you're bored or dehydrated. Water also helps you feel full & increases energy.

We can have a first signal of a product/market fit after the launch by check how many sales we've got in the first 24h. Some scale:

50+: Some people need it.
10+: People almost don't need it.
0+: People don't need it.

This is for a single time payment product. For a subscription probably it should be less because people hate subscription.

Kani means wetland and Pakam means flow of water into wetland.
Kanipakam Vinayaka is swayambhu (self-manifested). The murti is in a well which is always full of water.


Once, there were three brothers. Each one had a handicap- Dumb, Deaf and Blind. They had a small piece of land for livelihood. For their field, they drew water from a well. One day, they found that the well had dried up so one of them started digging in the well.


His tool hit something and blood oozed out. They found a swayambhu murti of Ganesha here.
Villagers started offering coconut water which overflew into a channel. Hence the name Kanipakam.


The murti is still growing in size. At present, we see the knees and the abdomen only. The Kavacham (Armour) offered to Vinayaka 50 years ago doesn’t fit today.
Vinayaka is believed to be the upholder of truth. So people come here and swear before him to prove their innocence.

TILAK:AN AGE OLD PRACTICE OF HINDUS

Today we will talk about a very prominent and noticeable Mark on the foreheads of #Hindus called 'Tilak'. Tilaks are of different designs and colors. It symbolizes different meanings for different people such as religious expression, spiritual symbol, marital status etc.


Tilak is a very alluring design that is made in between the eyebrows. Vermilion, Chandan, Turmeric, Kumkum, Rice and Rice water, Vibhuti etc can all be used as Tilaks.
Why this particular spot is used for Tilak? Bcoz, it is mentioned as 'Ajna Chakra' in terms of yoga.


This chakra is the sixth & most important chakra of the human body. It's the junction where the highest number of neurons meet & is described as most important and sensitive spot in the human body.Different #Hindu traditions use different shapes and ingredients to make the Tilak.


SPIRITUAL SIGNIFICANCE

Various Hindu Scriptures mention the importance of Tilak in Sanatan Dharma. It is believed that energy, strength and divinity comes to those who apply Tilak. It is also regarded as a welcoming expression and to honour the guests when they arrive.

The oil from this lamp is given to bhakthas for recovering from illness.

Sthala puranam says that, Once, when Parashurama was travelling through Kerala, he reached this place. As it was evening, he stepped into the Lake for Sandhya Vandanam

(Brahmini, maheshwari, kowmari, vaishnavi, varahi, indirani and chamundi) were travelling there on a tortoise through the water. The tortoise was unable to move, because the Water had made its way for Parashurama. The place where the tortoise became Still came to be known as 👇


Aama Ni Nidayam' ( Aama means tortoise) and later become ‘Ameda’. Parashurama came to know about the journey of Sapthamathrukkal. Thus, he did Prathishta for the Sapthamathrukkal here.
7 forms of Aadi Parashakthi are Sapthamathrukkal. Veerabhadra and Ganesha have Sannidhi here.


The main Garbhagriham in the temple is the Sapthamathrukkal. There are Sannidhi to Nagas, Nagayakshi and Vishnu too. Sarparadhana or snake worship is done here. Naga Panchami is famous here. Those who have Naga Dosham come here and get relieved of their Doshas.
