This is the man who opened a corruption commission then closed it when the evidence led to him, he has a lot hide.

Cuomo is a man who renamed a bridge after his father with the intent to use it as a campaign boost with his name, even as his own CNN host brother told the world he shouldn’t because his dad would have hated it.

Cuomo is a man who is sitting on billions in funds meant for our starving public schools, ignoring a court order to distribute it to schools while handing tax cuts to his Trump donors. Even COVID didn’t change his mind.

When Trump decided not to provide PPE, Cuomo chose twitter and CNN cameras in a tough guy act and got nothing while other governors worked quietly to create a buyers coalition and cornered the market to purchase PPE from under Trump successfully.

While New York had among the worst COVID outcomes of any other state, Cuomo spent his time writing a book about how he single handedly defeated it. That was when he wasn’t giving his rich donors a pass while they killed New York’s seniors in nursing homes.

Got an FOI response almost three years late... a short thread

Back in December 2017, when I was a reporter for the Gloucestershire Echo, I went to a knife crime event where a police officer gave a talk mentioning he'd been running undercover stings on local shops - sending in underage teens to see whether the store would sell them knives.

That's an interesting story, I thought. So I asked the @Glos_Police press office for some details about the operation, and the shops which had fallen foul of it. They said they'd rather not give those details.

So I put in an FOI on December 5, 2017, hoping for a response within the 20 working day limit.

I got one on November 20, 2020, having forgotten all about it

It refuses to confirm or deny whether the info is held: "Whilst there is a public interest in providing reassurance that the Police Service are appropriately and effectively holding information of this nature, there is a stronger public interest in safeguarding national security"

had given statements that the two accused were working in the dairy at the time of crime. The other innocent accused was present in a place away from SoC and witnesses had deposed that he too was not in the SoC.

The goal posts for access constantly shift at this court, in a completely arbitrary manner. We are currently being told by a court official that no journalists will be allowed in (told they can access the Cloud Video Platform) and only two people can access the public gallery. 2/

At times, even under Covid measures, four journalists have been allowed into the well of this same courtroom, and five people into the public gallery. Two in total today is completely arbitrary. We’re told the access restrictions are the judge’s decision. 3/

We’re hearing that two seats in court are being held for @AusHouseLondon, so we circle back to the same issue as the “VIP” seats held in the September proceedings at the Old Bailey, when these “VIP” diplomats never took their seats, but they were held back from the public. 4/

A thread of the known timeline of the #nashvilleexplosion. At 1:22am on Christmas this RV was first recorded by surveillance cameras on Second Avenue in downtown Nashville. It then parked on the west side of the street right next to the AT&T Data Center. @NC5 1/15

At around 5:30am downtown residents heard gunfire on Second Avenue and calls were made to police. A short time later came another round of gunfire. When police responded they found the RV playing a recorded warning that there was a bomb inside. 2/15

At least six brave @MNPDNashville officers went door to door in the immediate area getting the people who were home on Christmas morning to evacuate. @JohnCooper4Nash called the officers “heroes” and says, “there would have been life lost if it wasn’t for their courage.” 3/15

An academic mystery novel in which we learn that the culprit murdered the victim because they could not agree on which font to use for their very important committee memo.

The tension builds throughout the book as they exchange drafts of the memo, each time changing the font back to the "proper" font.

No one mentions the font changes, they just seethe.

Exasperated, one of them sets up a Qualtrics survey for the committee. It has only one question: "what is the correct font to use for this committee's correspondence?"
