Battle of Sarangpur,
Between Rana Kumbha and Mahmud Khilji.
Rana Ji was the son of Rana Mokal Singh by his wife, Sobhagya Devi.
He was the 48th Rana of Mewar and succeeded Rana Mokal Singh in the year 1433 CE as the ruler of Mewar.

One of the assasionator of Rana Kumbha's father, Mahpa Panwar was given shelter by Mahumud Khilji, who was the sultan of Mandu.
Rana Ji demanded Mahpa Panwar from Mahmud Khilji, but he refused.
This was the main reason for Rana Kumbha to attack Mandu.
In 1437 AD, both the army met at Sarangpur, in which the army of Rana Kumbha crushed the army of Mahmud Khilji, after this defeat Khilji's army fled in all the direction.
Rana Ji captured Kjilji and brought him to Chittorgarh where he was kept in jail for 6 months.
To commemorate this victory Rana Kumbha built the great Vijay stambha in Chittorgarh.
