A thread about Bhagawan Vishnu's celestial bow, Sharanga.

Sharanga is the celestial bow of Bhagawan Vishnu. This bow was crafted by Vishwakarma. He then gave this bow to Vishnu.

In South India, Sharanga is also called as The Kodhanda.

Vishnu is also called as Sharangapani. It means, the one who wields the Sharanga bow.

Among the 12 Alvars, Thirumangai Alvar is considered as the Divine Incarnation of The Sharanga Bow.

Vishnu used the Sharanga bow to defeat demons.

Once all the Gods asked Bhagawan Brahma that who is the powerful archer, either Vishnu or Shiva. Then, Brahma inferring the intent of Gods, he created a dispute between Shiva and Vishnu.

Then Vishnu and Shiva started fighting very angrily.

3/15
Both the Bhagawans started using their divine weapons Pinaka and Sharanga bows.

This fight created a huge impact in the balance of the Universe.

4/15
Shiva then became so anger, that eventually lead took the form of Rudra. Rudra started fighting very angrily.

5/15
Seeing this, Vishnu started uttering the Pranava Mantra, 'OM', which reduced Rudra's calm . Then immediately, Vishnu shoots many arrows which overpowered Pinaka. This lead to destabilize Shiva.

Then, seeing this the Gods declared that Vishnu has won.

6/15
But Vishnu was not happy about this.

Bhagawan Shiva, then gave his Pinaka to the Mythila King Devarata. This bow was passed down to Mythila King Janaka.

Similarly, Bhagawan Vishnu gave his Sharanaga to Sage Richika. Richika then gave this bow to his son Rishi Jamadgani.

7/15
Finally, Rishi Jamadgani gave this bow to his Son Bhagawan Parasuram.

Bhagawan Raman lifted Shiva's bow Pinaka and tied thread during Seethai Swayamvaram. While tying the thread, The Pinaka broke into 2 pieces. This lead to tremendous shaking of the entire Universe.

8/15
Parasuram knowing this reached the Swayamvaram place with anger. He asked few questions to Raman and Raman replied it politely. Seeing his kindness, Parasuram gave Sharanga to Raman and asked him to strung the bow and shoot an arrow.

9/15
Raman did this easily. Parasuram understood who Raman was. Then Raman gave his divine Vishnu Dharshan and blessed Parasuram. Parasuram became so happy and left the palace.

Raman used his bow Sharanga to defeat the Lanka army and Ravanan.

10/15
After leaving this material world, Raman gave this Sharanga bow to God Varunan. After this, Raman reached Vaikundam.

As Raman used Kodhanda(Sharanga bow) he was called as Kodhanda Raman in South India. It means, Raman, the wielder of Kodhanda.

11/15
During Krishnan Avataram, Bhagwan Krishna received back his Sharanga bow after defeating Demon Narakasuran. God Varunan gave the bow to Shri Krishnan.

Krishnan used Sharanga to defeat Demon Shalvan.

12/15
During Khandava Dahan, Krishnan and Arjunan fought alongside with God Agni against God Indra. It is said, Krishnan used Sharanga bow here too.

13/15
While leaving this material world, Shri Krishnan threw the Sharanga bow into the ocean bed(representing the water). Then the bow reached back to the hands of God Varunan. Finally Shri Krishnan reached Vaikuntam.

14/15
Meerabai called Krishnan as Kodhandadhaari, means the person who wields of Kodhanda.

End of the thread.

Viruses and other pathogens are often studied as stand-alone entities, despite that, in nature, they mostly live in multispecies associations called biofilms—both externally and within the host.

Microorganisms in biofilms are enclosed by an extracellular matrix that confers protection and improves survival. Previous studies have shown that viruses can secondarily colonize preexisting biofilms, and viral biofilms have also been described.

...we raise the perspective that CoVs can persistently infect bats due to their association with biofilm structures. This phenomenon potentially provides an optimal environment for nonpathogenic & well-adapted viruses to interact with the host, as well as for viral recombination.

Biofilms can also enhance virion viability in extracellular environments, such as on fomites and in aquatic sediments, allowing viral persistence and dissemination.
