When you begin to see how many harmful practices are tied to and/or depend upon abortion, you can't ever look at it the same:

- conscience protection ripped from practitioners
- a shift from triage to hierarchy of human worth
- creating categories of despensible people
- encouraging death in response for suffering
- reduction in the value of human life

- research on humans that gave no consent
- separation, transfer, and sale of human body parts
- eugenics
- attempts to create "ideal" humans
- eugenics in IVF practices
- disposal of millions of embryos in IVF
- commodifcation of humans
- sale of humans in adoption practices

In late JANUARY we collected the first examples of pro-Kremlin disinformation spinning conspiracy theories about the origins of COVID-19. (2/20)

In FEBRUARY disinfo outlets kept amplifying conspiracy theories about COVID-19, no matter how ridiculous. The @WHO warned that the pandemic was accompanied by “infodemic”: an unprecedented flood of false or inaccurate information about coronavirus. (3/20)

In MARCH Josep Borrell, the head of the European External Action Service, warned: “disinformation can kill”.

In APRIL global activist network @Avaaz found that harmful misinformation on coronavirus was shared over 1.7 million times on Facebook and viewed an estimated 117 million times. (5/20)

My husband’s family history is complicated (on both side), to say the least.

Recently, he grew curious and wanted to learn more about his maternal grandfather—which was quite a force of nature.

Here’s a pretty long thread ⬇️

His maternal great grandfather was from a samurai family, so wealthy enough at the time to study at Todai and to become a judge. He got married, had 2 sons and then found nothing better to do than abandoned wife & kids to ran with a mistress and go do business in Manchuria.

Suffering from financial hardship, his ex-wife (from a merchant family) had to sell one of her son to another family.

She kept my husband’s grandfather with her, and remarried.

His grandfather received some good education, luckily, and studied at Meiji university.

The grandfather dreamt of becoming a prosecutor. But when he graduated, all the exams got cancelled—Japan was at war and the administration had no time to overview tests. He missed his one chance, and had to settle with becoming a public servant.

He married another descendant of a samurai family—my husband’s grandmother, an admirable lady and a nurse who had come from Gifu to Tokyo at 18.

They both were hardworking folks, who came from wealthy families who lost all their wealth in a fast changing world.

Any thinking that the only way forward is to sweep all of this criminality, treason, & genocide-by-pandemic under the rug - without investigation & punishment - with the application of our laws as equally to the most powerful as we’ve done to the most vulnerable... is madness. /1

2/ It’s the madness of blind belief in the nation’s “exceptionalism”.

The language of “America is the greatest nation...” is always wielded by those who inherit the power to hold a criminal predecessor to account, but fail to do so.

They’re in a self-defeating belief loop...

4/ The election was triage. A rush of action at the scene of massive crash site. The jaws of life were used, tourniquets applied, and the body placed in the ambulance - on its way to 1600 Pennsylvania Ave.

Now, we need a series of surgeries (investigations) to survive, and...

5/... a long rehab just to get ambulatory again.

It will likely take 30 yrs to restore the damage done by these criminal traitors. And I’m not talking about just steering a ship in one party’s direction over another. That’s the kind of false flag whining that conservatives do...

Clear communication is so important in times of national crisis. With no articulation of the goals and challenges, there is wavering trust in our leaders to lead us through this long dark period of Canadian history.

This is true for all levels of health care administration.

With the Covid pandemic, physicians and nurses locally rallied to the cause. We enjoined with our leaders on this great and patriotic national enterprise to keep our patients and our communities safe.

We were all in it together; and then we were not.

I am, through daily conversations with nursing and physician colleagues, coming to the sad realization that many health care providers now feel abandoned.

We know vaccinations are coming on stream and though we are seeing Covid patients, we also realize that there are individuals and communities in greater need and that we will have to be patient.

What is truly irksome is the total lack of communication from health care authorities and leaders.

They operate behind shrouds of silence. Information is limited, is released in dribs and drabs and is generally unhelpful.

THREAD: We have a historic, even generational opportunity ahead of us just 11 days from now. Let me outline it for you. I'm gonna try and make this non-partisan. I hope you don't judge me irretrievably naïve.

The fact is, much of what's going on in America today is unsustainable. Whether it's government debt, or higher education, climate, or income inequality, it seems pretty clear to just about everyone that if we stay on current trajectory, America is hosed.

I'm not speaking to or about any particular side although if you follow me you probably know where I'm coming from. But 11 days from now we can all collectively choose to keep doing what we're doing -- which means we'll keep getting what we got...

...or we can choose to take a deep breath, close our eyes for a second, and say, "It's time to change." Part of that means turning down the rhetoric. It means taking an inventory of what's broken and thinking hard about how -- together -- we can make things a little less bad.

It means thinking practically about what to do next, and recognizing that the time for maximalist thinking is over; fixing our country will take compromise. All sides will suffer some disappointment, that's how you know the deal was close as possible to fair.

For the 20,000 victims of non-fatal strangulation and suffocation, I urge Parliamentarians to take action now and amend the Domestic Abuse Bill. This needs to be a stand-alone offence. If this opportunity is missed women will die.

Police could much better support victims if there was a stand-alone offence of Non-Fatal Strangulation. 80% of survivors are likely to have a resulting health problem e.g. stroke or PTSD. The Lords should amend the Domestic Abuse Bill to fix this.

4/10 punish addicts can be better spent on treatment. Afterall, addiction is a disease, not a crime and (b) I've a problem with the government dictating what an ADULT can/cannot put in their own body. It all comes down to personal choice & responsibility...

5/10 Nationalism: I'm somewhat cautious with the term 'nationalism' because as a student of history, I know that it can lead to a dark & dangerous path. As a Canadian, born & raised, I'm a Canadian patriot who believes our people, irrespective of race, colour etc...

2020 was a hard year, filled with unprecedented challenges.

We have a lot of work to do in 2021 but I am so proud of our office and the work we have accomplished in my first year.

Here’s just a sample.

In January, we implemented primary care diversion for parents to help break the cycle of incarceration.

In February, we instituted the boldest bail reform policy in the nation, ending our office’s practice of asking for cash bail.

We also implemented groundbreaking new policy directives to stop racist pretextual stops and end the use of gang and status enhancements.

In March, in response to COVID-19, we began our work to safely reduce the jail population to prevent an outbreak in the jails and our community. Ultimately we reduced the jail population by about 40%.

In April, we started an innovative Economic Crimes Against Workers Unit to protect vulnerable workers from exploitation—especially during the pandemic.

I used to talk more openly about my experience as a trans person, which is why I think so many people started following me. At some point last year, as I was about to hit 3 years of transition, I became deeply uncomfortable with trans community, discourse, & my lack of privacy.

My own gender dysphoria & internalized transphobia came raging back in ways that I didn’t expect it to. I’ve been struggling for the better part of a year. I rarely take selfies anymore. I closed my DMs, which I used to use to support others. I don’t talk about being trans much.

I spent most of 2020 becoming completely disillusioned by the effectiveness of hormones. Basically, I’ve built up a lot of resentment about finding myself on the wrong side of YMMV. I feel miles behind where I should be when comparing my experience to that of my peers.

In therapy, I’m back to working primarily on gender dysphoria, positive self-talk, & proactivity in transition. Like many people, my transition stalled completely in 2020. I accomplished nothing new, practically speaking. No documents signed, no dates set, no dreams coming true.

My therapist & I are working on learning to be happy if - hypothetically - transition were over right now. No more puberty, no surgeries, no changes. How do I go from feeling unsatisfied, jealous of others, & resentful to feeling happy, hopeful, & secure in my body & my identity?

i started receiving SEND support when i was 4, at the time i was undiagnosed selective mute, autistic, ADHD, dyscalculia and dysgraphia but had picked up on my dyslexia. when i was first under SEND they never discussed with me what that meant or why i was taken out of 2/

class constantly, they didn't even inform my parents for 2 years that i was struggling. i was put in a group at primary school for children who required extra support, so i received help for social skills, maths and english. If it wasn't already bad enough feeling different 3/

i was placed on the 'special table' with a teaching assistant for years and was still persistently taken out of class, by this point i was already feeling alone and completely singled out from my peers. i felt stupid and even when i tried my hardest it was never good enough 4/

this continued until i moved primary school when i was no longer made to sit at a 'special table' but was still taken out class constantly without being told why, at this age people started asking questions as to why i was taken out often too which being selectively mute 5/

The amount of misinformation about GRCs is staggering. LIterally dozens telling me I didnt know what a GRC is!

I know exactly what a GRC is.
The biggest misconception is that all these tens of thousands of self ID people have GRCs and that GRC gives them access to womens spaces. That is not correct. The issue is the Equality Act. No self ID person has a GRC.

There is also confusion over the fact a GRC doesnt need surgery or hormones (and yes I disagree).

A GRC may not require surgery but it does expect it. If someone hasnt had it there must he a legitimate reason as to why not. Simply not wanting it is not enough.

This provision was intended to support those who due to underlying medical conditions would not be medically fit for surgery.

The other confusion relates to the diagnosis.

A GRC requires one of the medical reports from an approved gender specialist.
