DOJ filings reveal propaganda operation spanning over a decade between establishment media outlets & China.

There's an axis of evil between the Chinese Communist Party and US establishment. China wants to influence/infiltrate our institutions, & swamp lobbyists/media hacks are eager to sell out.

This is almost fitting because I used to make fake "In Memoriam" videos for whenever a Trump official left the administration back in 2017 set to this song until they all got pulled because of copyright complaints. haha
Beat it
Now playing: Tiny Dancer
This is actually just the Trump campaign playlist he's used at rallies since his 2016 campaign, if you can believe it
Then they played the theme from "Titanic." Now it's "Funeral for a Friend" by Elton John. Whoever is in charge of the music is being either quite dumb or very subversive. https://t.co/bmF3osSyph

Even if Democrats win one or both U.S. Senate seats in today's runoffs in Georgia, North Carolina should remain a cautionary tale. https://t.co/wem4NmRwJa

one anecdote that i want everyone on this hellsite to read:
I organized in Durham County, which went bluer than 2016 and voted for Biden by a 62 pt margin.
I heard tales of organizing in Wake County being piss poor. Like, just not putting the necessary work in.
I didn't really comprehend at the time that this was a bad omen. I still thought we were going to win. But Wake County organizers were asking *us* in DurCo to come down and drive ppl to polls on Election Day. Not good.
I'm saying this with a lot of conviction: the central failure of North Carolina Dems in 2020 was organizing. We weren't allowed to do door-to-door canvassing while GOP did so. D2D is a crucial tool in organizing and we essentially gave it up for the GOP to take.
While we were stuck on Zoom and textbanking and phone calls, GOP organizers were going door to door, masked up and distanced, and were able to get a message out. We did not do that, and as such, our turnout was less than we needed.

Trump (who lied abt his inauguration size) says he knows he won bc of rally size.
Trump starts by describing that current margin is what "everyone agrees on."
Trump repeatedly claims that people went to vote but weren't allowed to bc a ballot already cast.
Maybe ... they had already voted? I think he just narced out a bunch of people trying to double vote.
Trump accuses "Ruby Freeman" of being a vote hustler.
And it would definitely not selectively censor unfashionable opinions if it were run by a government bureaucracy.
Because public sector bodies only ever maximise The Common Good.
Could even call it The International Common Good Association, just to make sure
As Twitter is the virtual equivalent of a natural monopoly both left & right should agree that it needs to be nationalised as a public utility & subordinated & regulated as a public good but as it is a global phenomenon perhaps it could be governed by an international regulator?

"I don't like the fact that Twitter is so subservient to the woke elites. Let's create a massive state regulator, so that the woke elites, which have a stranglehold on most institutions... oh no, wait..."
(I mean, he's not entirely wrong. His solution may be rubbish, but there is an issue here. Twitter really does have a substantial amount of market power.
Still: There are people who I just will not ever side with, even when they have a point. And that includes Communitarians.)
As far as I can see, there are no good solutions here.
5 years ago, I would have said "Lol, Twitter is just a private company, like any other. The Guardian wouldn't publish anything by me, but that's not "censorship". They're just not letting me use their platform."
However...
...Twitter really does benefit from substantial network effects. We are on Twitter, because everyone else is also on Twitter. You can set up a rival platform, but that would be like being the only person who has a telephone: not very useful, because there's no one you can call.
