An educational #Thread on what type of trades 1 can take & what r the rules for it.

Majorly there r 3 types of trades a trader takes :-

* Breakout Trade
* Breakout Retest Trade
* High risk reward contra trades

Disc. - All the #Stocks discussed are for educational purpose!

#Breakout Trade!

A Breakout trade is usually a trade where the price breaks a strong resistance/supply level after consolidation. These r considered strong stocks.

To add conviction to our trade we check volumes, RSI, RS etc. for confirmation.

Let's understand with e.g :-

It has broken strong resistance level of 135 with strong volumes on daily chart with RSI crossing 70, Prev. swing high which adds more conviction in the trade & makes it a high probability trade.

Suggestion - Add 50% qty on breakout & rest 50% wait for retest.

Breakout Retest #Trade

A Breakout retest trade is usually a trade where the price breaks a strong resistance with volumes, strong RSI & then retest the same price level with low volumes & RSI not breaking 55 on D which signifies a true retest.

Let's understand with e.g:-

It broke the strong resistance level of 2130 with strong volumes, RSI after long consolidation. After breakout it has retested it with low volumes & RSI abv 55.

Suggestion - Good risk reward here but 1 should keep S.L at breakout candle low i.e 2084 on clbs.

High risk reward #Contra trades!

These are trades which may seem against the trend, traditional rules of trading but where r:r is good & der is a strong reversal 1 can take the risk.

Provided the reversal should have a strong bullish candle with volumes & r:r atleast 1:3.

Most people will avoid a trade on this currently but why to miss a good r:r opportunity which has high reversal probability as bullish engulfing with strong volumes & a +ve RSI divergence after steep downtrend.

Also r:r is 1:5 is we take gap as trgt & 520 as S.L.

A lot of people are confused on when to take a #Trade hence explained with practical e.g's in which scenario's to take a trade with rules.

This is not a holy grail #strategy but 1 can use it to enter trades timely with conviction.

Yes, Volume is the most useful indicator in Price Action Trading.

A thread🧵 on Volume Analysis and Interpretation -

Price increases + Volume increases = Bulls have strength

Price decreases + Volume increases = Bears have strength

Price increases + volume decreases = Bulls don't have strength, won't sustain higher levels

Price decreases + volume decreases = Bears don't have strength.

Points to Remember -
1. Big breakouts start with big VOLUME always.

The Higher the volume + Higher the range = the bigger will be the move.

2. When the stock consolidates and rejects from the higher price, volume is always low.
And when it gives the decisive breakouts, The Volume is stronger than the whole consolidation..

3. When the trend changes from Positive to Negative, Or Negative to Positive, It is always supported by strong Volume..
See the volume when the stock was declining and going in a downtrend from the uptrend in the pic below.

USE LOG CHARTS 📈 FOR ANALYSING LONG TERM CHARTS!

1⃣ Wait, What's Log chart?

Before I define Log chart, let's look at the chart you are using daily - 'The Linear Chart'

- Linear chart is used by default in most platforms. This is probably why you never knew log charts

Wait, don't click on 'log' yet before you understand it...

2⃣ ok, so what does Linear chart mean?

Take a look at the image
- The y-axis is separated equally by 1000 points starting from 0 to 11000.
- So, any linear chart would have its y-axis equally separated by 'N' points always

And... that's where the problem lies...

3⃣ But, I don't see any problem?🤔

Ok ok.. let me explain...

- Can you look at this #TATAELXSI chart & tell me the price in '99 when it was listed? No!
- Can you draw a proper trendline in this chart? No!

Reason is because of the price congestion between '07 to '20...

4⃣ What else?🧐

- Whenever there is a price change in an instrument & it's drastic it'd be difficult to analyse on a linear chart

- Look at this example of #BTCUSD. What happened in 2021(refer to the red box)? 🤔

All this is because of the equally spaced Y-axis!

What is HH HL Structure ?

1. A stock Maintains Bullish Momentum till it holds the last Swing .
2. Swings is an area from where stock reverses
3. As it is widely known Trend is your Friend A structure of Higher High is good for buying as overall momentum is in buying side

A structure of Lower Highs is good for selling side , as each bounces will be sold off
Previous Swings will now act as Resistance in Downtrend and Support in Uptrend

Enter Stage 2 Uptrend
Stage 2: The Ideal Buy Point for Traders Traders should look for bases within an existing Stage 2 uptrend and focus on breakouts on volume. Intermediate term traders can also use investor buy points

A thread on HN about bad code in legacy projects both makes me think how little we've learned as a discipline over the years and, honestly, how little credit we give ourselves for some pretty major

Fun going down this list and thinking: "Hmm, plausible at a well-run modern software shop", "Hmm, possible, but requires implausible tradeoffs", "Literally disallowed by languages", and "If you were to attempt doing that our test suite wouldn't let you merge."

I think we as an industry celebrate (not quite the right word) failure too much and don't celebrate success nearly enough. There is no DailyWTF for competent execution, word of which generally stays pretty local to the source while incompetence passes into legend.

Alrighty let me try to thread the needle on being the change I want to see in the world while not giving away anything that will get me in trouble:

Ruby has wonderful developer ergonomics. Typed languages are easier for machines to guarantee the correctness of. We built a type checker for Ruby (and I believe it is slated for OSS release sometime).

To do a Namaskaar or bow before someone means that you are humble or without pride and ego. This means that we politely bow before you since you are better than me. Pranipaat(प्राणीपात) also means the same that we respect you without any vanity.

Surrendering False pride is Namaskaar. Even in devotion or bhakti we say the same thing. We want to convey to Ishwar that we have nothing to offer but we leave all our pride and offer you ourselves without any pride in our body. You destroy all our evil karma.

We bow before you so that you assimilate us and make us that capable. Destruction of our evils and surrender is Namaskaar. Therefore we pray same thing before and after any big rituals.

Did you know?

When Saudi Arabia's King visited India in 1955, PM Nehru ordered all the Hindu Temples and Idols of Hindu Deities that came in Saudi King's way to be covered up.
Our temples are the architectural marvels in their own league.

Each of our temples tells the story of our rich history and cultural heritage. Was Nehru that ashamed of his own nation's heritage that he had to cover them up or there was some other reason? The answer would be best known to him only.

PM Nehru invited the then Saudi King Saud bin Abdul Aziz to India who accepted the invitation and planned a 17 day long official visit to India in 1955. Saudi King had brought a large delegation with him and he had to visit various Indian cities like Mumbai, Hyderabad, Agra,

Aligarh, Shimla, Mysore and Varanasi. However, when Saudi King reached Varanasi, Nehru ordered to cover all the temples and Idols with curtains that came in the way of the Royal Convoy. During his stay in Varanasi, Govt buildings were painted with the words "Kalma Tayyiba".

'Kalma Tayyiba' means 'There is not God but only Allah and Mohammed is his messenger'. In addition to it, Pooja and Aartis were also stopped at temples. I can call it the appeasement politics of the highest order and Nehru was indeed the greatest appeaser of all times.
