The first ever world map was sketched thousands of years ago by Indian saint
“Ramanujacharya” who simply translated the following verse from Mahabharat and gave the world its real face

In Mahabharat,it is described how 'Maharishi Ved Vyasa' gave away his divine vision to Sanjay

Dhritarashtra's charioteer so that he could describe him the events of the upcoming war.

But, even before questions of war could begin, Dhritarashtra asked him to describe how the world looks like from space.

This is how he described the face of the world:

सुदर्शनं प्रवक्ष्यामि द्वीपं तु कुरुनन्दन। परिमण्डलो महाराज द्वीपोऽसौ चक्रसंस्थितः॥
यथा हि पुरुषः पश्येदादर्शे मुखमात्मनः। एवं सुदर्शनद्वीपो दृश्यते चन्द्रमण्डले॥ द्विरंशे पिप्पलस्तत्र द्विरंशे च शशो महान्।

—वेद व्यास, भीष्म पर्व, महाभारत

Meaning:-

हे कुरुनन्दन ! सुदर्शन नामक यह द्वीप चक्र की भाँति गोलाकार स्थित है, जैसे पुरुष दर्पण में अपना मुख देखता है, उसी प्रकार यह द्वीप चन्द्रमण्डल में दिखायी देता है। इसके दो अंशो मे पीपल और दो अंशो मे विशाल शश (खरगोश) दिखायी देता है।

Meaning: "Just like a man sees his face in the mirror, so does the Earth appears in the Universe. In the first part you see leaves of the Peepal Tree, and in the next part you see a Rabbit."

Based on this shloka, Saint Ramanujacharya sketched out the map, but the world laughed

Mahamrityunjaya Mantra-The Power Of Supreme Being and How The Mantra Originated

Mrityunjay is one of the famous name of Bhagwan Shiv. Mahamrityunjaya Mantra is dedicated to him and it holds Great Power.

"Maha" means "Great",
"Mrityun" means "Death" and "Jaya" means "Victory", and so the mantra means "Victory over mortality".

The mantra is also referred to as Mrita-Sanjivini Mantra or life-Reviving Mantra, found in the oldest Vedic literature, the Rig Veda (7.59.12).

This is how Mahamrityunjaya Mantra originated -

The great sage Mrikandu Rishi and his wife Marudmati worshipped Bhagwan Shiv and sought from him the boon of begetting a son. As a result, he was given the choice of either a righteous son, but with a short life on earth

or a child of low intelligence but with a long life. Mrikandu rishi chose the former, and was blessed with Markandeya, an exemplary son, destined to die at the age of 16.

Markandeya grew up to be a great devotee of Bhagwan Shiv and on the day of his destined death

he continued his worship of Bhagwan Shiv in his aniconic form of Shivalingam. The messengers of Yama, the God of death were unable to take away his life because of his great devotion and continual worship of Bhagwan Shiv. Yama then came in person to take away Markandeya's life,

Types of Shivling 🙏🏻🔱

Shivlings can be of various types, though broadly divided into 2 classes:

Chal lingas (movable ones); and Achal or Sthir lingas ( स्थिर, immovable ones, such as the ones in heavy stones

which we see in temple sanctums).

The Chal lingas - can be categorised into mrinmaya (made of earth), lohaja (metal made), ratnaja (made of precious stones), daruja (wooden ones), sailaja (stone made ones), and kshanika lingas

(made for some occasion and disposed off immediately afterwards).

The Achal lingas - also known as Sthir lingas or Dhruv lingas, and can be classified into ‘Four Types’: Daivika, Arsaka, Ganapa, and Manusa.

The Kamika Agama ( Granth) however classifies them into ‘Six Types’

Swambhu, Daivika, Arsaka, Ganapatya, Manusa, and Banalingas.

Besides the swambhu or the natural ones that have a special significance of their own,

the last two are the most important ones. Banalingas, like salagramas, are natural and found in particular

river beds, mainly fished out from the river Reva or Narmada.

Manusa are man-made lingas; comprising of three parts namely, Brahmabhaga (square lowest section), Vishnubhaga (octagonal middle part), and Rudrabhaga (topmost part, generally cylindrical);

सम्राट विक्रमादित्य के नाम से विक्रम संवत चल रहा और 2078 पूर्ण होकर 2 अप्रैल (चैत्र शुक्‍ल प्रतिपदा) से 2079 विक्रम संवत आरम्भ हो रहा।

महान सम्राट महाराजा विक्रमदित्य (विक्रम सेन परमार) और उनकी वीरता और महानता के बारे में आज देश के सिर्फ़ मुट्ठी भर लोगों को ज्ञात होगा, कि उन्होंने इस देश को सोने की चिड़िया बनाया था और देश में स्वर्णिम काल लाया था

विक्रमादित्य के पिता जी का नाम गर्दभील्ल (गंधर्वसेन) था।

सम्राट विक्रमादित्य की बहन का नाम मैनावती था तथा उनके भाई भर्तृहरि महाराज थे। सम्राट विक्रमादित्य की माँ जी का नाम सौम्यदर्शना था।

महाराज विक्रमादित्य, चक्रवर्ती (अर्थात् जिसका संपूर्ण भारत में राज हो) सम्राट थे कहते हैं उनके राज में कभी भी सूर्यास्त नहीं होता था।

महाराज विक्रमादित्य ने हिंदुत्व का परचम पूरे विश्व में लहराया था तथा उन्हीं के कारण ही आज सनातन धर्म बचा हुआ है।

सम्राट विक्रमादित्य का जन्म 101 BCE अवंतिका( उज्जैन) मध्य प्रदेश में हुआ था और 57 BCE में शको ( विदेशी आक्रमणकारियों ) को हराने के उपलक्ष में

नए काल सत्र का निर्माण किया, जिसे हिंदू पंचांग में “विक्रम संवत” के नाम से जाना जाता है |
आज जो भी ज्योतिष गणना है जैसे , हिन्दी सम्वंत , वार ,तिथीयाँ , राशि , नक्षत्र , गोचर आदि उन्ही की रचना है
