So it turns out that Google Chrome was making everything on my computer slow *even when it wasnโt running*, because it installs something called Keystone which is basically malware.
I made a website because this shouldnโt
Wired first reported on how bad Keystone was 11 years ago when they put it into Google Earth (they seem to put it in all their popular
The fact that Keystone hides itself in Activity Monitor is bizarre. (The only sign of it was excessive CPU usage of WindowServer which is a system process).
I donโt know if Google was doing something nefarious with Keystone, or a third party figured out how to (which Wired warned about). But either way, Iโm not inclined to give Google-the-organization the benefit of the doubt (despite the many good people who work on Chrome)...
...since it's been a decade+ and this still hasn't been "fixed".
There is no reason for auto-update software to need to do what Chrome/Keystone was doing. It also has a long history of crashing Macs.

WHEN GH0RI TOOK TO HIS HEELS WHILST FIGHTING A HINDU QUEEN
THE BATTLE OF KASAHRADA (Kayadara)
1178 AD
Strategy! Bravado! Glory!
(Thread)
The narrative set by left historians about one of their favorite poster boys "Gh0ri" is that he went unchallenged upon entering the Indian subcontinent with one king falling after another.(1)
They conveniently deleted this event. Why? An agenda aimed at making us feel weak and inferior against the invaders in an attempt to glorify them. Simple strategy: To destroy a civilization tamper their history.(2)
Gh0ri defeated Prithviraj Chauhan at the 2nd Battle of Tarain in 1192 and laid the foundation of Delhi Sultanate. What is not well known is the fact that 14 years before he won this battle, he was defeated by the queen of Gujarat "Naiki Devi"!(3)
In 1173 Md Gh0ri had conquered the Ghaznavids in Afghanistan. A ruthless, persistent and deceptive Gh0ri was successful in conducting massive raids deep inside Indian territory.(4)

Hello, writers! How about a thread on LITERARY AGENTS? How to get one, how to talk to one, how to keep one happy. Spoiler alert: I am 100% pro agent and can't imagine not having one on my side. 1/
Why would you want a literary agent?
* you want to be traditionally published
* you want someone experienced to help guide your career
* you want to learn how to edit like a pro
* you want to sell foreign and movie rights
* you want answers to your newbie questions 2/
Why you might *NOT* want a literary agent:
* you want to self publish
* you're not willing to compromise on your edits
* you don't think their expertise is worth 15% of your advance
I... can't think this way. Literary agents have been crucial to my career. 3/
So, how do you get a literary agent?
1. Have a finished, revised, edited, polished manuscript.
2. Write a query letter for your book
3. Send your query to agents who rep your genre and are open to submissions
4. Repeat steps 1-4 until you're offered representation. 4/
So, let's go through those four steps. First of all, you must have a finished, revised, edited, polished book, and it must be sellable. That is, you can't sell a 600k picture book or a 40k adult Fantasy, etc. You must read extensively in the genre you're writing. 5/

Shocking fact: Millennial men are less likely to work than any other age and gender demographic in America.
Today, there are 500,000 young men missing from the U.S. workforce.
Research suggests video games & improved leisure tech plays a role in the problem. ๐ Thread:
Following the 2007 to 2009 recession, 25 to 34 year old men exited high school with fewer middle-skill job opportunities than years prior.
During this time, we saw an increased number of men living with parents & choosing unemployment over lower paying jobs.
It's estimated that 24M millennials live w/ their parents.
1 in 4 living in their parentsโ home neither go to school nor work.
What's more surprising? 9 in 10 who lived with their parents a year ago are still living there w/ no plans to leave.
Economists are calling millennial men a lost generation.
According to economist David Dorn:
โIf you get to the point where youโre turning 30, youโve never held a real job and you donโt have a college education, then it is very hard to recover at that point.โ
Economists suggest this choosiness is a generational trait.
Forbes interview w/ a high school educated man:
"Iโm very quick to get frustrated when people refuse to pay me what Iโm worth."
โPeople feel that they have choice nowadays, and they
