It never happens. A thread.

Many must be familiar with "it never happens". When you bring up women having concerns about Self ID and allowing potentially abusive males to have access to female spaces and that it will lead to violence or worse "It never happens".

When evidence is shows "It never happens" MAY turn into "It's an isolated incident" before defaulting back to "It never happens" for the next time the argument crops up. This complete apathy for a very real concern is deliberate. It's framed as if having these concerns...
makes a woman illogical. Because "Trans Women are Women" it's just another woman being excluded. Not an intact male, not just any male who decides to identify as a woman. I've watched women point out the percentage of sexual abusers who "transition" to be in women's prison.
I've seen them told they're being hysterical, that they're endangering trans people. The argument is very clever, they frame it as an attack on what most people think of as trans people ie someone who has transitioned completely. They never frame it as some...
bloke with a beard, a cock and balls and a history of wrongdoing. "IT NEVER HAPPENS". So recently something very interesting happened on Twitter. I saw @helenstaniland responding to a post
Here's we're lead to believe someone born female, who apparently isn't "CIS" but presents as female was accosted by women in a toilet to look up her dress and that she couldn't imagine what would have become of a someone "Assigned male at birth"
My answer was simple "Things that didn't happen". And would you believe it the outrage was palpable. How dare I doubt the word of this obviously genuine person? Even though when a trans person is shoved in a toilet it seems to make the news I was being truly offensive.
This outrage coming from people who do nothing but belittle women for not wanting males in their space. For not centering males in their feminism. For not just doing as they're told. Abuse overlooked online and in real life, explained away, made "okay" because
They're just being mean to "TERFS". Each and every one of the people responding to my post with outrage farming can go and fuck themselves. Each and every one can shove their bullshit outrage up their arse. You selective, abusive fuckwits.
If you're presented with actual evidence of threats and worse and brush it aside you don't get to scream and shout about people being terrible if they don't believe a very shonky claim on Twitter in the expectation you'll be taken seriously. It's all just more appropriation.

More from Society

global health policy in 2020 has centered around NPI's (non-pharmaceutical interventions) like distancing, masks, school closures

these have been sold as a way to stop infection as though this were science.

this was never true and that fact was known and knowable.

let's look.

above is the plot of social restriction and NPI vs total death per million. there is 0 R2. this means that the variables play no role in explaining one another.

we can see this same relationship between NPI and all cause deaths.

this is devastating to the case for NPI.

clearly, correlation is not proof of causality, but a total lack of correlation IS proof that there was no material causality.

barring massive and implausible coincidence, it's essentially impossible to cause something and not correlate to it, especially 51 times.

this would seem to pose some very serious questions for those claiming that lockdowns work, those basing policy upon them, and those claiming this is the side of science.

there is no science here nor any data. this is the febrile imaginings of discredited modelers.

this has been clear and obvious from all over the world since the beginning and had been proven so clearly by may that it's hard to imagine anyone who is actually conversant with the data still believing in these responses.

@danielashby @AdamWJT @Greens4HS2 @TheGreenParty @GarethDennis @XRebellionUK @Hs2RebelRebel @HS2ltd I'll bite. Let's try to keep it factual. There's a reasonable basis to some aspects of this question, that it might be possible to agree on. Then there are other, more variable, elements which depend on external factors such as transport and energy policy. /1

@AdamWJT @Greens4HS2 @TheGreenParty @GarethDennis @XRebellionUK @Hs2RebelRebel @HS2ltd First up, we know reasonably well how much energy it takes to propel a high-speed train along the HS2 route. We can translate that into effective CO2 generated by making some assumptions about how green the electricity grid is. /2

@AdamWJT @Greens4HS2 @TheGreenParty @GarethDennis @XRebellionUK @Hs2RebelRebel @HS2ltd Secondly, we have a reasonable grasp of how much CO2 is going to be generated by building HS2 - there are standard methods of working this out, based on the amount of steel, concrete, earthmoving, machine-fuelling etc required. /3

@AdamWJT @Greens4HS2 @TheGreenParty @GarethDennis @XRebellionUK @Hs2RebelRebel @HS2ltd Thirdly, we can estimate how much CO2 is generated by cutting down trees, and how much is captured by planting new trees. We can also estimate how much CO2 is needed to keep the railway running and generated by maintaining the track /4

@AdamWJT @Greens4HS2 @TheGreenParty @GarethDennis @XRebellionUK @Hs2RebelRebel @HS2ltd We know how much CO2 is saved by moving goods by freight train on the lines freed up by moving the express trains on to HS2, rather than by truck. /5
