4.3 billion people use Google every day.

But 99.9% of them don't know how to search Google properly.

Here are 15 tips to use Google more efficiently:

 Use quotes

When searching for something specific: use quotes.

Search: Sun the perineum

And the engine will search for content that contains those 3 words in any order.

But if you search “Sun the perineum” it will search for that phrase exactly as you typed it.
Use a colon to search specific sites

Search: law of attraction site:https://t.co/XRep1lKOZU

Will show you results on the 'law of attraction' only from my website.
Find sites that are similar to other sites

Search: related:https://t.co/QOHfyrxF81

Will show you all the sites related to Twitter.
Find a specific file

Syntax: Wisdom filetype:pdf

Will show all pdfs related to 'wisdom'.

This can mostly be useful for scholarly purposes, business presentations and other assorted presentations.
Use @ to search social media

Add @ in front of a word to search social media.

Search: infinitians@twitter

Will show all the results for Infinitians from Twitter.
Look for images of specific colour, size, copyright, time or type.

If you search for Deadpool and tune your result to the colour orange

It will give you images of an orange Deadpool.

Yup really.
Compare two or more things using “vs”

If you want to determine whether living in Bali is better than Dubai

Just search: Bali VS Dubai
Spell Those Numbers

How do you spell out 6,546,345,645? Google can tell you if you search [number]=english
Play Games in Google Search

Google has a host of built-in games like Pac-Man, tic tac toe, Solitaire, Minesweeper, and Snake.

Search flip a coin and Google will do it for you; the same thing with a die or spinner.
Create a Google Alert

If you want to be notified whenever a keyword is published on the web

Create a Google Alert
Use a hyphen to exclude words

Using "-" excludes words or phrases from the results.

Search: Rocky -film

Will show results related to 'rocky' in general but not the film Rocky.
Perform a Reverse Image Search

This function allows you to upload an image file and find information on that image.

Eg: if you uploaded a picture of the Eiffel Tower

Google will recognize it and give you information on the Paris monument.
Add a tilde (~) in front of a word to find synonyms

If you search for iPhone ~cheap

You will also get results for "iPhone inexpensive," and so forth.
Use Google search to do math

Perhaps my go-to feature.

Whether it's converting currencies
Dividing a big number
Or even calculating the square root of 4761

Google has you covered.
Leverage Google Shortcuts

• Weather *zip code* – This will show you the weather in the given zip code

• Time *place* – This will display the time in whatever place you type in.

• Define: *word* – This will display the definition of a word.

• Sunrise/Sunset *city*
Use an asterisk in place of words you do not know.

If you forget things and words easily, * will come to your rescue.

Search: imagine all * for today

And google will give you John Lenon on a silver platter.

The Ife Primary Education Research Project (1970-1983).

The Ife 6-Year Primary Project.


In 1970, as the Director of the Institute of Education of the then University of Ife (now Obafemi Awolowo University, Ile-Ife), later Dean Faculty of Education, Prof. Babs Fafunwa & his team embarked on one of the most groundbreaking research projects in education for Yorubaland.


The aim of the project was to test the hypothesis that the best instructional medium for good concept formation at a very tender age is the mother tongue.

This was bolstered by the observation that “of all the continents and peoples of the world, it is only in Africa…

…that formal education is offered in a language that is foreign to the child.”

So, Yoruba was to be used & tested as an exclusive medium of passing information or instructions to a set of pupils.

The project was based on the premise that:

(a). the child will benefit culturally, socially, linguistically & cognitively.

(b). the child’s command of English will be improved if he is taught English as an entirely separate subject by a specialist teacher through the 6 years.

ADI SHANKAR AND SRI TOTAKACHARYA

Adi Shankaracharya chose his disciple Totakacharya to be the first head of the Math at Joshimath.
The Narsingh Mandir (Mandir of Sri Narasimha) in Joshimath is one of the 108 Divyadesams and also the home of Badrinath during the winter months.


Totakacharya was earlier a boy named ‘Giri’ and a devout disciple of Adi Shankaracharya. Unlike others, he was not known to be an expert in Shastras but his dedication to his Guru was complete and he used to listen to His discourses with utmost faith and devotion.

One morning as Adi Shankara and his disciples were getting ready for the discourse, Giri was delayed. The other disciples urged their Guru to commence the lesson on Bramhsutra Bhashya telling him that Giri would anyway not be able to comprehend its deep meaning.

Adi Shankar responded “नायमात्मा प्रवचनेन लभ्यो न मेधया” – Atman cannot be attained through discourses or mere intellect.
He,then, awakened the supreme knowledge in Giri.
Giri spontaneously composed: श्री शङ्करदेशिकाष्टकम् extolling his Guru’s grace.


Adi Shankaracharya granted sanyasa to Giri and gave him the name Totakacharya.
The story of how Giri became Totakacharya is a great example of the importance of faith and devotion in your Guru and not the mere knowledge of the Shastras.

How you can filter stocks for Intraday trades - 🧵

As a kid, we would do homework before school the next day - you have to do homework here too. A specific sector performs on a particular day and studying things a day before will help you spot that particular sector. (1/11)

To prepare for the next trading day, you got to check the Index charts of all sectors. You got to keep an eye on a specific Index if you see a few factors:

- If any Index closed exactly at the resistance, you can get a trade on either side on the next day. (2/11)

- If it gave a rejection candle at resistance.

- If any Index closed exactly at support, you can get a trade on either side the following day.

- If there was a bullish signal at the support.

- If any Index gave a breakout or breakdown and then gave a good closing. (3/11)

- If any Index has taken support at 50 or 200 EMA.

Once you spot the Index, look at all the stocks in that particular Index. Pick at least 3-4 stocks from that Index and add them to your watchlist for the next day. It's ideal to check both higher and lower timeframes. (4/11)

What you should do next day? (When I am unable to check Indices and stocks a day before, I sometimes directly start with this process.)

- Start with checking the top gainers/losers list. I observe market from 9:15 to 9:45am to check the sectors performing well on that day.(5/11)

There's been a lot of talk about the missionary killed by the natives of North Sentinel Island. They're probably so aggressive because of this weirdo, Maurice Vidal Portman. So here's a big thread about this creep and some facts from my decade-long obsession with the island.


The Sentinelese are often described as “uncontacted,” but this not strictly true. They had a very significant contact in 1880 with Commander Portman.

Portman, the black sheep third son of some minor noble, was assigned by the English Royal Navy to administer and pacify the Andaman Islands, a job he pursued from 1880-1900 with the full measure of his own perversity.


Portman was erotically obsessed with the Andamanese, and he indulged his passion for photography by kidnapping members of various tribes and posing them in mock-Greek homoerotic compositions.

Fake chats claiming to be from the Irish African community are being disseminated by the far right in order to suggest that violence is imminent from #BLM supporters. This is straight out of the QAnon and Proud Boys playbook. Spread the word. Protest safely. #georgenkencho


There is co-ordination across the far right in Ireland now to stir both left and right in the hopes of creating a race war. Think critically! Fascists see the tragic killing of #georgenkencho, the grief of his community and pending investigation as a flashpoint for action.


Across Telegram, Twitter and Facebook disinformation is being peddled on the back of these tragic events. From false photographs to the tactics ofwhite supremacy, the far right is clumsily trying to drive hate against minority groups and figureheads.


Declan Ganley’s Burkean group and the incel wing of National Party (Gearóid Murphy, Mick O’Keeffe & Co.) as well as all the usuals are concerted in their efforts to demonstrate their white supremacist cred. The quiet parts are today being said out loud.


The best thing you can do is challenge disinformation and report posts where engagement isn’t appropriate. Many of these are blatantly racist posts designed to drive recruitment to NP and other Nationalist groups. By all means protest but stay safe.
