The fact that we can't agree anymore on simple truths keeps me up at night.
In science we agreed on core values or rules where everyone could empirically check the assertion made.
Heck we built in mechanism to challenge core beliefs and get them universally accepted.
It's not the forbearance of decorum or independent thought.
It's not even one of those close, disputed scientific advances waiting on more data to be settled.
