 Back in 2016, when we started Rainmatter, there were just about 70-80 lakh Indians who invested at least once a year. With @zerodhaonline, we had solved the problem of a superior execution experience with Kite.

But the bigger problem was that the market was too shallow.

We also realized that we can only do so much on our own to expand the pie.

When we built Kite, we first built out a set of APIs called Kite Connect (https://t.co/3weCdsOviP) on top of which Kite was built.

So we figured we could open them up to startups who were building experiences around capital markets that could potentially expand the markets. Because it didn't make sense for them to build execution from scratch given that we had solved it.

Around this time, @Nithin0dha and Kailash (K) were at a cloud conference, and the Chief Of Cloud of a company was speaking. 5/23
So @Nithin0dha jokingly told K, "if he's the chief of cloud, then I want to be a Rainmaker."

K suggested if that's the case and if we wanted to invest in startups, we should call the company Rainmatter, and that's how we came to be.

At Rainmatter, we invest in startups building solutions around capital markets that can potentially bring the next 10 million Indian investors into the markets. That's our core thesis. We aren't a traditional fund in the sense that growing the markets comes first than ROI.

Bharat Darshana publishes a small monthly magazine which has some very interesting puranic anecdotes and snippets.

When I picked up this month's magazine, I was intrigued by a story which I want to share as below

This is a real-life incident as narrated by Prof. Krishna Bihari Pandey titled "Sati Savitri"

Sati Savitri is a well known puranic figure from Srimad DeviBhagwatham and Mahabharatha as one of those who fought with Yama to save her husband.

This story is a modern real-life experience which mimics the puranic account in it's own unique way.

The story occurs in 1975 with Prof and his wife in Delhi with professor working as a researcher in university. Prof's family is in Allahabad in a large joint family

Once Prof gets to know that his mother is not keeping well. He goes to his native and brings his mother. With dedicated care of his wife, his mother recovers quite remarkably and regains full stamina and strength

Mother-in-law & Daughter-in-law go out for shopping frequently

Life's going smooth until one day when they receive a telegram that Prof's father is not keeping well.

His mother is distressed about the situation and requests her son to take her to the native. Prof is a little angry due to frequent travels and turns it down

🌺श्री गरुड़ पुराण - संक्षिप्त वर्णन🌺

हिन्दु धर्म के 18 पुराणों में से एक गरुड़ पुराण का हिन्दु धर्म में बड़ा महत्व है। गरुड़ पुराण में मृत्यु के बाद सद्गती की व्याख्या मिलती है। इस पुराण के अधिष्ठातृ देव भगवान विष्णु हैं, इसलिए ये वैष्णव पुराण है।


गरुड़ पुराण के अनुसार हमारे कर्मों का फल हमें हमारे जीवन-काल में तो मिलता ही है परंतु मृत्यु के बाद भी अच्छे बुरे कार्यों का उनके अनुसार फल मिलता है। इस कारण इस पुराण में निहित ज्ञान को प्राप्त करने के लिए घर के किसी सदस्य की मृत्यु के बाद का समय निर्धारित किया गया है...

..ताकि उस समय हम जीवन-मरण से जुड़े सभी सत्य जान सकें और मृत्यु के कारण बिछडने वाले सदस्य का दुख कम हो सके।
गरुड़ पुराण में विष्णु की भक्ति व अवतारों का विस्तार से उसी प्रकार वर्णन मिलता है जिस प्रकार भगवत पुराण में।आरम्भ में मनु से सृष्टि की उत्पत्ति,ध्रुव चरित्र की कथा मिलती है।


तदुपरांत सुर्य व चंद्र ग्रहों के मंत्र, शिव-पार्वती मंत्र,इन्द्र सम्बंधित मंत्र,सरस्वती मंत्र और नौ शक्तियों के बारे में विस्तार से बताया गया है।
इस पुराण में उन्नीस हज़ार श्लोक बताए जाते हैं और इसे दो भागों में कहा जाता है।
प्रथम भाग में विष्णुभक्ति और पूजा विधियों का उल्लेख है।

मृत्यु के उपरांत गरुड़ पुराण के श्रवण का प्रावधान है ।
पुराण के द्वितीय भाग में 'प्रेतकल्प' का विस्तार से वर्णन और नरकों में जीव के पड़ने का वृत्तांत मिलता है। मरने के बाद मनुष्य की क्या गति होती है, उसका किस प्रकार की योनियों में जन्म होता है, प्रेत योनि से मुक्ति के उपाय...

Sri Alarmelmangai Thayar sametha Sri Prasanna Venkatesa Perumal, at Thirumalai Vaiyavur, Chengalpat, near Chennai.

ancient hill temple of (more than 500 years old), Lord Prasanna Venkateswara in the sanctum sanctorum looks majestically holding the scepter-Sengole.


Two Thayar idols, Mahalakshmi and Bhu Devi, are on His broad chest on both sides.

Divine serpent Adi Sesha has his place in the Tiruvasi frame around the Lord in upside down 'U' letter shape with all craftsmanship.

Lord is wearing 'Ashalakshmi-Sahasranama' malas and 'Dasavatara Odyanam', the belt around the waist.

Tiruvonam star days in the months of Aavani (August-September) and Purattasi (September-October) are celebrated grandly in the temple.

In Purattasi Tiruvonam, rice nivedhanam is arranged in the shape of Seven Hills with seven dheeps, seven varieties of other preparations and vegetables.
