There are two important prophecies related to Hinduism in Indonesia. 🕉️🇮🇩

The first was made by a royal head priest called Sabdapalon.

Upon conversion of the last Majapahit King Brawijaya V to Islam ing 1478, he prophecised that he would be born 500 years later during a time of corrupt politics and natural disasters.

He would sweep Islam off the island and restore the Hindu-Buddhist Javanese religion.

Interestingly in 1978, Mt Semeru erupted. It was also the time when the first new Hindu temples in Java like Pura Blambangan (Banyuwangi) were completed.

Another prophecy was made by the king of the Kediri Kingdom, Jayabaya (also known as Varmesvara) who ruled 1135 AD-1179 AD.

"The Javanese would be ruled by whites for 3 centuries and yellow dwarfs for the lifespan of maize plant (one year) prior to the return of a dharmic king"

It is was also said that Ratu Adil, the dharmic king would return “when iron wagons drive without horses and ships sail through the sky.”

The Dutch would rule Indonesia from 1610 upto the Japanese invasion which was followed by their independence.
