During Punarvasu nakshatra (Lunar asterism) at twilight in karka lagan, Ramachandra was born in Ayodhya on this day, when the Sun and five other planets, among others, were positioned.
Though born in an affluent family, Rama lived and practiced dharma as a common man. He taught with his actions and not merely by his words.
Being born on Navami, or the ninth day of the lunar calendar denotes being eternally young. The number nine is timeless and never loses its uniqueness.
The sum is nine when multiplied by any other number. 9 x 7 = 63, for example, and 6 + 3 = 9. The relationship between Lord Rama and the number nine signifies that the Ramayana and Rama's persona would never lose their freshness with time.
