Discovered by ASI in 1969-71, built around 10-12th cen by Chutiya kings, Ma Durga is d chief deity
God Krishna addressed ma Parvati as Malini as he got fascinated when she greeted him & his consort Rukmini with flower. Hence name Malinithan

An ancient 5000 yr old rock cut cave temple rediscoverd during 1962, dedicated to god Lakulisha (28th embodiment of lord Shiva), has Kali Purana carved in Sanskrit scripture.

Largest naturally formed Shivlingam in d world has been discovered here. There is mention in Shiva Purana, 17th chapter, 1893 ed. that a tallest shivlingam will appear at a place that will later be known as Arunachal
