How China benefitted by the closure of Sterlite Industries in Thoothukoodi

Sulphuric acid was a by product of Sterlite Industries, this H2SO4 was procured by fertiliser companies in India to manufacture Single Super Phosphate (basal fertiliser for paddy, cotton & standing crops)

H2SO4 is also used to manufacture DAP (Di Ammonium Phospate ), both SSP and DAP are not only used as direct fertilisers but are also a major ingredients for the manufacture of complex fertilisers like triple 18 etc ( NPK)

When Sterlite was operational They supplied H2SO4 for Rs 600 to Rs 1000/ Ton to Indian fertiliser Industries. Sterlite catered lions share of H2SO4 in South India.

With the closure of Sterlite, Indian fertiliser companies are procuring the H2SO4 from China for Rs 12000 / ton

This is just about H2SO4 which is just a by product od Sterlite, just think of the other products produced by Sterlite like
Copper
Acid slurry ( main ingredient in detergents )
Battery Grade acid used in batteries
Rock Phosphate etc

Because of the closure of Sterlite Industries over 50000 SMEs have been closed in Tamil Nadu alone apart from them several tanker lorries and trucks have gone off road in TN

Now DMK and its satellite outfits along with the conversion mafia forced the closure of Sterlite
