Human rights abuses have been a part of the campaign of the Indian army against Muslim Kashmiris, particularly after 1990. The oppression has been manifested in the following types of human rights abuses: “ disappearances ”

On 14 June 2018 for the first time ever UN human rights council released a report of 49 pages on human rights violations in Kashmir and accused both India and Pakistan on the issue.

3. Abduction
4. Attacks on schools and hospitals
5. Denial of humanitarian access.

It is important to understand that these violations are also happening in Indian occupied Kashmir and are increasing day by day.

it was reported that children are vulnerable and so as a way of terrorizing and gaining control, they may be deliberately targeted. To induce fear and compliance,
they are raped, kidnapped, and tortured.

In IOK deaths, disability, and disfigurement due to injuries caused by pellet guns, use of tear gas, bullets, and shells as well as drowning, inhaling shell fumes are common and have been reported in international and national media.

2019 has been the hardest year of suffering, trauma, fear, uncertainty, and wrath of occupation forces for the Kashmiri people in general and the women in particular since they laid siege to IOK.

Usually the Kashmiri men are targeted, but the women are also suffering from the Indian military siege in their own less visible yet painful way.

According to the latest statistics by Kashmir Media Services, the Indian troops molested and gang-raped 32 Kashmiri women during the period from January to June 2020 alone.
