One example: Jones spent $80k on "security" for his trip to CT for his Sandy Hook damages trial, where he is right now. "I don't like where we are today," Judge Lopez says. But it's the right decision under the law.

"I hope I never have to make another decision like this as long as I'm on the bench," Judge Lopez says.

Judge now expanding the power of DoJ's Subchapter V trustee to run Jones's business, citing a "lack of candor in this case." Wow.

Judge says someone completely independent is needed to run Infowars, citing concerns with disclosure, lack of candor and the $54 million debt to an LLC partly owned by his family, and the need to investigate insider rel'ships

He is also authorizing the trustee to hire outside counsel/help. "And I want folks with no connection to any of these cases to assist you."

"There has to be greater transparency in this case...It's gonna cost what it costs."

This isn't a comment on the professionals he's just booted, the Judge said. He respects their work, "But without process and without transparence ppl lose faith in the process...Congress writes laws, judges apply them as faithfully as possible, and that's what I've done today."

Much of the press has been positioned in jury box facing Trusty, Halligan, Kise and Corcoran. Trusty jokes: We've already objected to this jury.

Trump team initially took up spots on judge's right which appears to be defense table. A clerk asked them to move to plaintiff's table. Trump is the plaintiff, sort of, really just the movant since he never filed an actual complaint. Case was assigned as a suit though

It's related in a way to an issue in the dispute: Is it properly before Judge Cannon or should it have been brought first to Judge Reinhart, who issued the search warrant. Special Master Dearie has flagged this as a potential Q in the fight. That seemed to irk Trump's team.

Here in Waterbury for Alex Jones/Sandy Hook trial—Jones is outside the courthouse holding forth for the cameras. He’s apparently reluctant to come inside, where there are three rows of Sandy Hook families in the gallery waiting to hold him to account.

It's as yet unclear whether Jones will testify today. Right now the Infowars corporate rep, Brittany Paz, is again on the stand. During her testimony last week lawyers for the families established that Infowars' traffic/sales surged when he spread Sandy Hook lies.

HAPPENING NOW: I have dialed in to Judge Dearie's courtroom, and apparently the system has left every single caller unmuted -- so it sounds roughly like midtown at rush hour, but with the added benefit of dozens of people screaming at each other to shut up.

This is truly the soundtrack of my nightmares, people who sound demonically possessed yelling "MUUUUTE" at inhuman decibel levels and getting increasingly furious that no one is listening.

Moral: Never dial in 20 minutes early.

Someone is now piping elevator music into the call after another caller sang America the Beautiful. Another man hypnotically reciting "Trump is a criminal." Since I dialed in, a woman has been shrieking "Mute your phones!" consistently every 10-15 seconds.

UPDATE: The situation has improved from Satanic screaming orgy to earsplitting metallic scraping. Looks like we're almost ready to begin the hearing.
