🕉 2. During one of the battles between Asuras led by SooraPadman-son of Asura Rishi Vajranaga & princess Varangi,grandson of Sage Kashyapa,the Devas were defeated by Asuras. In despair, they prayed to Bhagwan Shiva to give them an able Brave leader 🚩

🕉 3.Mahadev created mighty warrior, Skanda, out of his own power or Achintya Shakti.
Leading the celestial forces, Skanda inspired & defeated Asura forces! SooraPadman surrendered before Bhagwan prior to his defeat,So Bhagwan Skanda blessed him to become his Vahana - Peacock 🚩

🕉 4. The Kavadi Attam "Burden Dance" & Fire Walking is the ceremonial sacrifice & offering Kavadi - which devotees carry on the shoulder, decorated with Peacock feathers & carrying the food for Lord Skanda 🚩

🕉 5. Piercing ones body and tongue with ‘Vel’ is the symbol of SooraPadma’s defeat with the Vel- Spear given by MaParvathi. This supreme expression of devotion & surrender to the higher force is exalted by the mystical dance.
