Asaf Jah began as Mughal governor of the region & established a dynasty in the early 18th century (d.1748) which ruled for 7 generations until 1948. The Chaumahalla Palace complex is made up of 4 palaces: Afzal Mahal,Mahtab Mahal,Tahniyat Mahal & Aftab Mahal. Afzal Mahal 👇. 2/n
A Masjid built by Asaf Jah I in the old town of Ajanta, situated 8 Kms from to the south of the famous Buddhist cave temples excavated around 200 BC & later in the 5th century AD. The town is surrounded by a strong fortified wall & moat built by Nizam in 1727.

Bashir Bagh Palace, Hyderabad & its interior view, taken by Deen Dayal in the 1880s. The Palace was constructed by Asman Jah who was Prime Minister of Hyderabad from 1887 to 1894. The palace has since been dismantled, however the area is still known as Basheerbagh. 4/n
