Disclaimer : This is MY interpretation & the ratio (80/20) is variable..
The essence here is to identify what matters & weed out the inconsequential & thereby manage time accordingly.

But it can also be applied practically in our day to day life in all possible aspects to ensure smooth sailing.

Attainable
Relevant
Time based goal .

Everything is #time based as time saved can be used constructively for other purposes or even wasted happily ! :))

I first read this book in 2009 after losing 80% of my monies on Penny stocks as a student when the 2008 drawdown happened.

Thought it was too simple !

Now in 2021, I think this is one of the best books to absorb & implement.

Moving onto Emergencies . This pandemic has made so many of us realise the importance of it .

Another interesting facet :
Unwillingness to take risks comes from the FEAR of not having money when needed - typically why Bank F.Ds are preferred.

Hence the EMERGENCY fund.

*It shall DIFFER from person to person.
*Understand HOW to go about it & BUILD up your fund.
*It takes 2-3 months time to figure out our expenses & 6 months - 1year atleast to build up this fund.
*So be patient ! 🤷

10 Key Lessons From the Book “Black Swan” By: Nassim Taleb

⚡️Book Review⚡️

1. Don’t chase black swans, instead, let them permeate your life.

👉You can do this by experimenting, cultivating serendipity,

🚫not taking bell curves too seriously, and investing in lots of small outlier but high-risk opportunities.

2. Black swan events Key attributes:

- Extremely impactful
- Are outlier events
- Are retrospectively predictable, not prospectively predictable

🚫Try to avoid situations that can fool you in a huge way, and avoid depending on huge, and potentially harmful predictions.

3. Randomness mainly comes from lack of knowledge

Surviving until tomorrow could mean that you’re either more likely to be immortal, or closer to death.

👉Both of these conclusions are based on the same exact data.

4. Unknowns are more important than the knowns

👉We can master things in one field and fail to transfer the same to another.

Everyone has their own limitations when it comes to learning from experience or observation.

Life won’t always go your way, so if you start thinking that it will, you’ll be disappointed and less effective

Instead of focusing on what you think you deserve, figure out what u want and be willing to pay the dues required to get it

When your mind is telling you that you’re done, completely exhausted and not able to go any further, you’re only at about 40% of your potential

Keep fighting when you feel like you’re done, and that’s when you unlock the remaining 60% of your potential

3. No one is going to help you

Don’t wait for someone else to help you.

If it’s your dream, it’s on YOU. If you wait, you’ll be waiting until you’re on your deathbed if you don’t take action.

4. Callous your mind

When you’re ready to quit, stay the course. See how far you can go.
